This position's job tasks will change throughout the day. Must be able to quickly reprioritize tasks based on needs on the company for the day. Â
- Safely operate Class A commercial motor vehicles to transport heavy equipment, machinery, roll-off containers, dirt, materials, and other loads.
- Transport heavy equipment to and from job sites using appropriate trucks and trailers.
- Load, secure, transport, and unload heavy equipment in accordance with DOT regulations and Company safety procedures.
- Operate roll-off trucks to deliver, pick up, and transport containers.
- Haul dirt, gravel, aggregate, debris, and other materials as assigned.
- Safely operate heavy equipment such as excavators, loaders, skid steers, dozers, backhoes, and similar equipment, as qualified and authorized.
- Load and unload trucks and trailers using heavy equipment when required.
- Properly secure equipment and loads using chains, binders, straps, and other approved securement devices.
- Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections of trucks, trailers, equipment, and load-securement devices.
- Identify and report mechanical problems, safety concerns, damage, or needed repairs.
- Maintain required driver logs, inspection reports, delivery tickets, and other transportation documentation.
- Follow all DOT, FMCSA, state, local, and Company safety requirements.
- Comply with applicable weight restrictions, permitting requirements, and designated travel routes.
- Maintain a safe driving record and operate Company vehicles in a professional and responsible manner.
- Follow all job-site safety requirements and use required personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Assist with general job-site duties when needed.
- Maintain trucks, trailers, and equipment in a clean and orderly condition.
- Communicate effectively with supervisors, dispatchers, customers, and other employees.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
