About the Job
The client is seeking a dependable and skilled Class B Machinist to join our manufacturing team. The ideal candidate will have hands-on machining experience, a solid understanding of CNC machining practices, and the ability to produce high-quality parts while following engineering drawings, work instructions, and established manufacturing procedures.

The Class B Machinist will be responsible for routine machine setups and machining operations with limited supervision while maintaining required quality, safety, and production standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Set up and operate CNC and/or manual machining equipment with limited supervision.
  • Manufacture parts according to engineering drawings, specifications, work instructions, and job requirements.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, dimensions, and tolerances.
  • Select and install appropriate tooling and make routine machine adjustments.
  • Verify tooling, offsets, and setup information before and during machining operations.
  • Perform in-process inspections to ensure parts meet specified requirements.
  • Use precision measuring equipment, including:
    • Calipers
    • Micrometers
    • Indicators
    • Height gauges
    • Other precision inspection tools
  • Monitor machining operations and identify issues related to tooling, dimensions, surface finish, or machine performance.
  • Make routine adjustments to maintain required dimensions and tolerances.
  • Accurately complete Manufacturing and Inspection Travelers and other required production and inspection documentation.
  • Report machining, drawing, tooling, or quality concerns to supervisors or Quality Assurance personnel.
  • Follow established quality, safety, and manufacturing procedures.
  • Maintain machines, tooling, and work areas in a clean, safe, and organized condition.
  • Work effectively with senior machinists, supervisors, Quality Assurance, and other production personnel.
Required Qualifications
  • Previous experience working as a Machinist or CNC Machinist in a manufacturing environment.
  • Hands-on experience setting up and operating CNC machining equipment.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and blueprints.
  • Working knowledge of machining practices, cutting tools, speeds, feeds, and basic tooling selection.
  • Understanding of dimensional tolerances and basic GD&T requirements.
  • Experience using precision measuring and inspection equipment.
  • Ability to perform routine machine setups and adjustments with limited supervision.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing quality parts.
  • Ability to follow written procedures, work instructions, and job-specific requirements.
  • Dependable attendance and ability to work effectively as part of a manufacturing team.
Preferred Experience
  • Experience with CNC lathes and CNC mills.
  • Experience with multi-axis machining equipment.
  • Experience in precision machining.
  • Experience working in a controlled manufacturing environment where documentation, traceability, inspection, and customer-specific quality requirements are important.
  • Experience with advanced machining setups, programming, or troubleshooting is a plus.
