The Archdiocesan Youth EmploymentServices (AYE) of Catholic Charities of Los Angeles, Inc. provides over 2,000 less privileged youth with job training, educational and career services each year. An additional 1,500 young people receive referral and job placement assistance through an extensive network of employers and community organizations. 

 
The Business Service Manager manages employer and client services to develop job opportunities and career pathways for underserved youth and adults and supervises the work of employees and volunteers.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide oversight of Business Service Representative responsibilities.
  • Supervise the marketing to employers the array of business services available through the America’s Job Center of California (AJCC).
  • Supervise employers recruitment assistance, pre-screening, candidates, and customize referrals.
  • Supervise employers access to customized training, tax credit information and other business services available through AJCC enter.
  • Manage participation in the development of Rapid Response plans.
  • Supervise job readiness training to include job search and conducting interviews.
  • Supervise career counseling and labor market information.
  • Supervise direct placement assistance including job referral and obtaining OJT training sites with local businesses.
  • Manage participant referral to employers.
  • Supervise job coaching and counseling, and perform participant follow ups and documentation in a timely manner.
  • Manage the process of developing and updating of participant IEP’s, and other required documentation in a timely manner.
  • Manage process for developing individual service strategy for successful career pathway.
  • Manage process of developing on-the-job training (OJT) agreements with employers
  • Provide oversight to ensure adequate support services and incentives as permitted under guidelines.
  • Supervise the development of specific workshops to include job search-resume and interviewing –life skills, financials literacy, etc. 
  • Perform other work-related duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in related field.
  • Four to six years of related experience including supervisory experience.
  • Management experience with knowledge of community services and job training.
  • Administrative principles and their application.
  • Communities’ social resources and government agencies.
  • Principles of supervision, training, and performance evaluation.
  • Applicable state and federal laws and regulations.
  • Appropriate handbooks and reference manuals.
  • Applicable contracts.
  • Catholic Charities policies, procedures and organizations.
