Field Service Technician

Travel: 85%–90% Nationwide Travel
The Field Service Technician serves as ASC's frontline representative at customer sites throughout the United States. This role is responsible for supporting the installation, inspection, troubleshooting, repair, maintenance, and commissioning of power generation enclosures, equipment, and related systems while delivering exceptional customer service and technical support.
Working alongside experienced technicians and field leadership, the Field Service Technician plays a critical role in ensuring projects are completed safely, efficiently, and to the highest quality standards. Success in this role is measured through technical performance, customer satisfaction, safety compliance, project execution, and the ability to effectively support ASC customers nationwide.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform equipment installations, inspections, repairs, and maintenance at customer locations throughout the United States
- Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and equipment-related issues in the field
- Ensure all work is completed safely and in compliance with company policies, customer requirements, and industry standards
- Assist with equipment startup, testing, commissioning, and operational verification activities
- Communicate project status, challenges, and recommendations to field leadership and internal teams in a timely manner
- Document field activities including service reports, photographs, receipts, punch list items, and maintenance records
- Maintain company-issued tools, vehicles, equipment, and personal protective equipment in proper working condition
- Collaborate with Senior Technicians, Field Supervisors, and project teams to complete field assignments successfully
- Represent ASC professionally while interacting with customers, contractors, vendors, and site personnel
- Support warranty, service, repair, and installation projects at customer facilities nationwide
- Travel extensively and stay overnight as required to meet project schedules and customer needs
- Promote ASC's culture of safety, quality, accountability, teamwork, and customer satisfaction
What We're Looking For
- High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent vocational or technical training preferred
- 0-3 years of experience in mechanical, electrical, industrial, construction, manufacturing, or technical service environments
- Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills
- Ability to safely operate hand tools, power tools, and basic testing equipment
- Strong communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills
- Ability to work independently while maintaining a team-oriented mindset
- Willingness and ability to travel extensively throughout the United States
- Ability to adapt to changing project requirements and work environments
- Commitment to safety, quality, accountability, and customer service excellence
Preferred Qualifications
- OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 Certification
- Experience performing field service, equipment installation, maintenance, repair, or troubleshooting activities
- Experience working with mechanical, electrical, power generation, or industrial equipment
- Familiarity with job management software, mobile communication platforms, and digital reporting systems
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record
- Experience reading technical drawings, manuals, schematics, or installation documentation
Physical & Work Requirements
- Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull up to 50 pounds on a regular basis
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, climb, and work in physically demanding environments for extended periods
- Ability to work indoors and outdoors in varying weather and site conditions
- Ability to climb ladders, access elevated work areas, and work in confined spaces when required
- Ability to safely utilize required personal protective equipment (PPE)
- Ability to travel 85% to 90% of the time, including overnight stays and extended project assignments
- Ability to maintain a valid driver's license and acceptable driving record
- Ability to work flexible schedules, including weekends and extended hours when project demands require
