Job Description Summary:
This position supervises the Sanitation staff and oversees sanitation and cleaning of the Production and Packing area(s), including but not limited to cleaning of MFG and Packaging equipment and/or machinery. May require working either morning or night (second) shift and weekends during peak season(s); assigned shift will be based on business needs.The pay range for this position at commencement of employment is expected to be between $75,000 - $85,000K per year; however, base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:Ā
- AssistsĀ with the supervision ofĀ SanitationĀ staff, including training and development of forepersons and performance management in compliance with unionĀ contract.Ā
- AssistsĀ SanitationĀ ManagementĀ with scheduling when necessary toĀ assureĀ availability ofĀ staffing needs to support client group(s).Ā Ā
- The Sanitation Supervisor must be able toĀ identifyĀ harborage points,Ā high riskĀ areas, and create mitigation strategies.Ā
- Assist Sanitation Management inĀ developing an efficient MSS andĀ identifyĀ cleaning, frequency,Ā and proceduralĀ opportunities.Ā
- Ensure MSS related tasks are completedĀ in a timely manner.Ā
- Maintains all Process/Cleaning Logbooks/Binders, ensuring all steps of the Manufacturing Cleaning directions are followed per Seeās SSOPs andĀ GMPS.Ā
- Disassemble,Ā cleanĀ and sanitize, processing equipment such as hoppers, mixers, enrobers,Ā swecos, conveyors, scoops, and all other machines, components and parts or as directed by the Manager.Ā
- Measure, Mix,Ā cleaning,Ā and Sanitizing Solutions as per instructions by the Sanitation Manager/Chemical Provider.Ā
- Maintain close supervision of the Pest Management ProgramĀ andĀ assistĀ in collecting Environmental Program samples.Ā
- Read and Maintain CIP readouts and have the ability to troubleshoot CIP issues.Ā
- AssistsĀ in computer input and departmental record-keepingĀ including but not limited to HRIS timekeeping function(s) asĀ required.Ā
- Guides Sanitation team in minor and major cleans, delegating responsibilities as necessary, supervising a team ofĀ 45Ā toĀ 50Ā people, training new/existing team members on safety, efficiency, and proper ways to clean the equipment, ensuring MSS is completed at the frequency given.Ā
- Develops,Ā maintains, and enforcesĀ SanitationĀ Department Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), food/sanitationĀ safety programs, and workplace safety practices to ensure the safe, efficient, and compliant operation ofĀ SanitationĀ equipment and processes. Monitors team performance and adherence to all established procedures, regulatory requirements, and company standards.Ā
- Leads and activelyĀ supportsĀ company safety, food safety, Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), quality, and cost-control initiatives within theĀ SanitationĀ Department. Drives employee engagement, accountability, and continuous improvement efforts to achieve operational, quality, and performanceĀ objectives.Ā
- Maintains communicationĀ withinĀ own department, as well as cross-departmental with client group(s) such asĀ Packing,Ā OperationsĀ to name a few.Ā
- ResponsibleĀ forĀ identifyingĀ opportunities to enhance technology and innovation that will improve departmental effectiveness.Ā
- BuildsĀ peopleĀ capabilities through coaching and mentoring of direct reports. Provides performance evaluations for their team.Ā

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:Ā
- High school diploma, certificate inĀ relativeĀ areas preferred.Ā
- StrongĀ peopleĀ management, communication, motivational, and customer service skills.Ā
- Excellent verbal and written bilingual skills (English/Spanish) highly preferred.Ā
- 3-5 yearsā experienceĀ supervising a union workforce with a diverse employee population.Ā
- Bachelorās degree in food science, engineering, business, or other related field preferred (education can compensate for less experience and vice versa).Ā
- Food manufacturingĀ preferred.Ā
- StrongĀ mathematicalĀ proficiency; excellent PC skills.Ā Familiarity with warehouse management systems or production schedulingĀ preferred.Ā
- ProvenĀ ability to learnĀ new technologiesĀ quickly and manage change efficiently,Ā proactivelyĀ and in a positive manner.Ā Ā
- Understanding ofĀ GFSI, HACCP, SQF, FDA, GMP, GDP, and how to complete RCA/CAPA/NCR/CAR.Ā
- MustĀ possessĀ a clear understanding of chemicalĀ compounds and usage.Ā
- Must be able to stand for 10 hours and be able to lift 50lbs.Ā Ā
- 3-5Ā yearsĀ supervisor experience.Ā
- 4-6Ā yearsĀ sanitation experience.Ā
