The Senior Data Intelligence Analyst works with end-user requests to document moderately to complex business requirements, data definitions, business rules, and data quality requirements in support of enterprise data intelligence projects. Creates specifications for reports and analysis based on business/clinical needs and data elements required or available. Produces data sets, reports, ad-hoc requests, dashboards, etc. Conducts data analysis in support of a variety of analytic solutions. Writes moderately complex structured Query Language (SQL) codes and queries. Provides quantitative and qualitative data analysis and reporting of patterns, insights, and trends to decision-makers. Analyzes complex problems and issues using data from internal and external sources. 

  • Demonstrates a strong understanding of report analysis and development, and applies expertise to help meet customer goals and outcomes; triages intake of data requests and seeks an understanding of business needs; trains end-users and staff as necessary.
  • Applies knowledge of healthcare and critical thinking skills in the analysis of business request and makes recommendations for solution/s to solve challenges.
  • Provides complex to highly complex report and data analysis with the help of more senior team members, vendors, and/or other EIS department contacts; provides quantitative and qualitative data analysis and reporting of patterns, insights, and trends to decision-makers. Writes SQL codes to support reports and data analysis. May mentor or provide guidance to less experienced staff.
  • Demonstrates an advanced level of report analysis and development, and applies expertise to help meet customer goals and outcomes; participates in re-engineering, as needed, operational work-flow processes with end-users/business owners.
  • Applies advanced level understanding of assigned clinical/business operations, processes, and workflows; and accurately documents, discusses, and identifies dependencies with project team members and stakeholders; reviews and provides feedback on documentation written by others. Articulates issues and complex concepts in an appropriate manner based on the audience.
  • Provides subject matter expertise and training to end-users and staff as needed. May participate in interviews and on-boarding process.
  • Assists the team with identifying cross-functional and integrated project risks. Demonstrates leadership to get the job done on time and above expectations.
  • Demonstrates a strong understanding of build concepts, Epic migration paths, change control process/governance, and ticket management process.
  • Leads and evaluates process and requirements analysis, including process mapping though current flow charts, documents, future needs/plans, requirement elicitation, stakeholder analysis, and specification gathering on complex projects. In addition, using current and projected data, provides recommendations.
  • Serves as the primary point of contact for vendor support and assistance for larger and more complex projects as well as in resolving increasingly complex or sensitive issues in assigned areas. Manages relationship with external vendors.
  • Provides clear and organized status reporting on key project areas to be used as external communications to stakeholders. Coordinates team members to gather information and prepare organized, consistent, and accurate status reporting
  • Independently provides guidance and leadership on quality assurance and testing initiatives. Demonstrates ability to lead team through complex integrated testing processes. Manages testing projects as necessary.
  • Contributes to strategy discussions by proactively identifying options with associated pros and cons with EIS team members and others.
  • Other duties as assigned.
     

Qualifications

Education
  • Bachelor's Degree Computer Science or related field - minimum
  • Master's Degree Master's degree in appropriate field highly desirable (such as Public Health, Hospital Administration, Healthcare Informatics, Biostatistics). Coursework or background in statistics - preferred

Experience
  • 5 years Experience working with healthcare information management systems and/or clinical operations experience. 5 years of experience is required for external candidates. 4 years of experience is required for internal candidates who have completed the EDI Data Quality and Governance training program. - minimum
  • 5 years Experience writing SQL statements and accessing relational database system.5 years of experience is required for external candidates. 4 years of experience is required for internal candidates who have completed the EDI Data Quality and Governance training program. - minimum
  • 5 years Experience with analytic business intelligence tools such as Crystal, Business Objects, SAS, and Tableau.5 years of experience is required for external candidates. 4 years of experience is required for internal candidates who have completed the EDI Data Quality and Governance training program. - minimum

Licenses and Certifications
  • EPIC Certification - Upon Hire preferred
