Position Description

EIP is seeking a highly motivated Senior Outreach Representative to support implementation of a Large Commercial Energy Efficiency Program for a major California natural gas utility. In this role, you will lead outreach strategy and customer engagement efforts designed to increase awareness of program offerings, recruit qualified participants, and drive participation among large commercial customers.

The Senior Outreach Representative will play a critical role in building and maintaining relationships with customers, trade allies, contractors, distributors, industry organizations, and other market stakeholders. This position will support participation in program offerings through direct outreach, market engagement, educational events, lead generation, and ongoing relationship management.

Objectives of this Role

路聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Outreach Strategy Leadership: Develop and implement outreach strategies that increase awareness of program offerings and drive participation across targeted large commercial customer segments.

路聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Customer Recruitment: Lead efforts to identify, engage, and recruit large commercial customers into the program pipeline.

路聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Market Engagement: Build and maintain productive relationships with customers, trade allies, contractors, distributors, and other stakeholders that influence participation and project development.

路聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Team Leadership: Supervise and support outreach staff, ensuring effective execution, consistent communication, strong customer engagement, and achievement of outreach goals and key performance indicators.

路聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Program Promotion: Promote energy efficiency solutions, program benefits, and available services through direct outreach, presentations, events, and coordinated campaigns.

路聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Pipeline Management: Oversee outreach pipeline activity, including lead generation, follow-up, opportunity tracking, and transition of customers into program support and delivery.

路聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Cross-Functional Coordination: Collaborate with internal teams to ensure outreach efforts align with technical services, account management, customer support, and overall program objectives.

Daily and Monthly Responsibilities

路聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Lead Outreach Activities: Direct and support outreach to large commercial customers through calls, emails, meetings, site visits, presentations, and events to drive awareness and participation.

路聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Supervise Outreach Staff: Provide day-to-day guidance, coaching, and oversight to outreach staff; support training and development; reinforce expectations; and monitor performance against goals and quality standards.

路聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Develop Outreach Plans: Help establish territory strategies, target customer lists, market priorities, campaign plans, and engagement tactics based on program goals and market opportunities.

路聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Manage Outreach Pipeline: Track leads, prospects, follow-up actions, referrals, and conversions to maintain an organized and productive customer recruitment pipeline.

路聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Build Market Relationships: Establish and maintain relationships with trade allies, contractors, distributors, business groups, property stakeholders, and other market actors that can support customer recruitment and program visibility.

路聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Coordinate Educational Events: Organize and participate in workshops, webinars, lunch-and-learns, conferences, and other outreach activities designed to educate customers and promote program participation.

路聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Ensure Consistent Messaging: Communicate program offerings, customer benefits, eligibility requirements, and next steps clearly and consistently across outreach channels and staff.

路聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Coordinate with Delivery Teams: Work closely with account managers, engineers, and program staff to ensure qualified customers are transitioned effectively from outreach into program support, technical assistance, and project development.

路聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Maintain CRM and Tracking Systems: Ensure outreach activities, customer interactions, referrals, and participation status are documented accurately and consistently in CRM and other program tracking tools.

路聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Gather Market Intelligence: Collect and communicate feedback from customers, trade allies, and market stakeholders regarding barriers, opportunities, trends, and customer needs to inform program strategy.

路聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Report on Performance: Prepare regular reports and updates on outreach activity, pipeline status, stakeholder engagement, participation progress, and team performance.

路聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Support Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities to improve outreach strategy, staff effectiveness, customer experience, and market engagement results.

Required Qualifications 聽

路聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Education: Bachelor鈥檚 degree in marketing, communications, business, environmental studies, energy, or a related field; or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.

路聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Relevant Experience: At least 6 years of experience in outreach, business development, account management, customer engagement, market development, or a related field, preferably in energy efficiency, utilities, clean energy, or a related sector.

路聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Leadership Experience: Demonstrated experience managing, mentoring, or supervising staff and supporting performance management in a professional setting.

路聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Communication Skills: Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills, with the ability to explain program offerings and customer benefits clearly and persuasively.

路聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Relationship Management: Proven ability to build and maintain strong working relationships with customers, contractors, trade allies, and external stakeholders.

路聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Organization and Follow-Through: Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities, maintain accurate records, and ensure consistent follow-through on outreach opportunities.

路聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Technology Skills: Proficiency with Microsoft Office and experience using CRM systems or other outreach tracking platforms.

Preferred Qualifications

路聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Utility Program Experience: Experience supporting utility-sponsored energy efficiency or demand-side management programs, especially those serving large commercial customers.

路聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 California Market Knowledge: Familiarity with the California energy efficiency landscape, utility programs, and market stakeholders.

路聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Large Commercial Customer Experience: Experience working with large commercial, institutional, healthcare, higher education, hospitality, or other complex non-residential customer segments.

路聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Trade Ally Engagement: Experience working with contractors, vendors, distributors, or trade ally networks in support of program delivery or business development.

路聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Campaign and Event Experience: Experience planning and executing outreach campaigns, educational events, and stakeholder engagement activities.

路聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Data and Reporting Skills: Experience using CRM systems, dashboards, and reporting tools to track outreach performance and participation outcomes.

路聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Field-Based Outreach Experience: Experience in customer-facing or field-based roles that require in-person engagement, relationship management, and market development.
