About the Role

  • Golden State Orthopedic and Spine is looking for motivated undergraduate students to become part of our Clinical Assistant Team. This is the perfect opportunity for graduating students to gain practical experience needed to apply to medical, physician assistant, nursing, or physical therapy schools. No prior experience needed. We will train. Learn from a wide spectrum of highly regarded orthopedic surgeons and healthcare providers in the Silicon Valley. Gain considerable experience in patient care and earn strong letters of recommendation to bolster your professional school application. What You'll Do

  • Rooming patients, taking vitals, charting history, and generating physician orders as needed
  • Under supervision of a physician, assisting with minor procedures such as drawing injections, applying durable medical equipment including boots, braces, and slings, molding and removing simple casts and splints, and wound care (removing staples and sutures from post operative incisions)
  • Coordinating patient care by triaging patient phone calls, completing disability paperwork, obtaining records, and managing insurance authorizations
  • Additional duties as assigned

What We're Looking For:

Education:

  • CCMA and Phlebotomy Certification (Preferred but not required)
  • 2+ years of medical back-office experience (Preferred)
  • High School or equivalent (Preferred)

License/Certification:

  • Certified Medical Assistant (Preferred but not required)
