Minimum Requirements:

Bachelor's Degree in Sports Administration or a related field and five (5) years of facilities management experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Valid driver's license. Must be insurable by University insurance carrier. Employment physical, able to lift, carry and load equipment up to 50 lbs required. Ability to travel and work nights, weekends, and holidays as needed. Knowledge of NCAA and ACC rules and regulations. Grade 6 (Salaried)

Position Description:

The Manager, Athletics Facilities serves as Facility Manager for athletic facilities on campus such as Volleyball, Softball, Field Hockey, Lacrosse, Track & Field and Men’s and Women’s Basketball on campus facility and Men’s Basketball games held at the Yum Center and oversee facility operations managers assigned to facilities.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Manage staff that provide arena operations support for Yum Center along with facilities on campus (L&N Arena, Kueber Center, Ulmer Stadium, Trager Stadium, Lacrosse Stadium, Cardinal Park, and Marshall Center) to ensure facility readiness year-round.

  • Fulfill the role of Game Day Manager for Men’s basketball games.

  • Manage special projects as directed in all facilities (A/V renovations, grass & field turf renovation, parking lot resurfacing & restriping, facility renovations, roof repairs, fence repairs, seat repairs, and concrete repairs).

  • Assist the Associate AD during facility renovations, working with coaches and teams during renovations (coordinating, overseeing, and executing renovation plans).

  • Execute facility operations for televised games with ESPN, ACC Networks, and Local Networks.  Work with in-house broadcast staff.

  • Coordinate and schedule facility maintenance work with athletics facility staff & UL physical plant and outside contractors for all facilities.

  • Oversee audio/visual equipment for events throughout the facilities.

  • Assist the Associate AD with game day operations for home football games.

  • Monitor and provide guidance to facility staff under the direction of the Associate AD when it comes to budgets directly connected with facilities under their direction.

  • Work with the Assistant AD for Facility & Stadium Operations regarding facility interns during the school year.

  • Create contracts for events, oversee events and their needs, and provide guidance to staff with creating event invoices for outside events in facilities under this position.

  • Assist with procurement processes through development, evaluation, and implementation of Requests for Proposals (RFPs) for critical operational service contracts.

  • Serve as the Liaison to the Louisville CVB and Sports Commission for future athletic events at YUM, Norton’s Sports and Health Learning Complex, and KEC.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Master’s degree in Sports Administration or related field.

  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office.

Compensation will be commensurate to candidate experience.
