PRIMARY DUTY

Under the direct supervision of the Sr. Quality Assurance Manager, the Quality Inspector is responsible for performing inspections and verifications on products at various stages of production to ensure that customer specifications are met and that company quality standards are followed. The inspector will inspect, verify, monitor, and report on product quality and established processes. 


TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Others may be assigned. Nothing in this job description restricts management’s right to assign or reassign tasks/responsibilities to this job at any time. 


  • Audits product quality on forming machines and printing presses including measuring, weighing, counting, and appearance, ensuring product meets specifications. 
  • Inspects and approves incoming materials by confirming specifications, conducting visual and measurement tests, reviewing documents, and rejecting unacceptable material for return to vendor
  • Documents inspection results by completing reports and logs, summarizes re-work and waste, and updates data as needed in the company manufacturing software 
  • Audits raw materials being used on forming machines; such as films and corrugate 
  • Performs line clearings and verifies production line start-up to ensure a successful transition to new order
  • Performs Albumen (Egg), Moisture, Rigidity and Oil/ Water Testing, and other quality lab measurement devices as required
  • Places product on QA Hold as needed; including finding clean points and entering nonconformance details into Quality Database
  • Performs calibration on bowl cameras 
  • Collects new product samples and maintain database
  • Assists with any quality concerns in the plant, including rework support
  • Contributes to the successful execution of internal GMP audits, fosters a culture of quality and compliance by leading through example
  • Performs other related duties as required and assigned

  • Effective written and oral communication skills
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret related documents
  • Detail-oriented, able to multitask (coordinating several projects at one time), and able to work in a fast-paced, deadline-oriented environment. Must be a team player willing to help others when needed
  • Excellent follow-up and organizational skills
  • Able to work independently with little direction
  • Basic computer proficiency 
  • Various quality standards including GMP, QMS, EMS, SMS, and FSC


EDUCATION AND WORK EXPERIENCE


  • High School Diploma or High School Diploma Equivalency required
  • Experience and/or training in a manufacturing role
  • Any equivalent combination of education, experience and training that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.

  • While performing the duties of this job, this position is frequently required to stand, walk, sit, and use repetitive hand motions for up to twelve hours
  • While performing the duties of this position this position is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts, extreme temperatures, and noise. Must wear required PPE at all times on production floor
  • While performing the duties of this job, this position is occasionally required to reach overhead, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl, and lift up to 50 lbs.
