Our dealership offers a dynamic lineup of both new and pre owned motorcycles, and we’re passionate about delivering top-tier service to every rider who walks through our doors.   Position Summary  The Internal Work Technician is responsible for inspecting, diagnosing, reconditioning, assembling, and preparing motorcycles for retail sales. This role ensures all used and new motorcycles meet dealership, manufacturer, and safety standards before being displayed or delivered to guests. The technician works closely with the Service, Parts, Sales, and Accessories departments to maximize inventory readiness and guest satisfaction.    Essential Duties & Responsibilities    Used Motorcycle Inspections & Reconditioning  Perform comprehensive multi-point inspections on all pre-owned motorcycles acquired through trade-ins, purchases, and auctions.  Identify mechanical, cosmetic, and safety-related deficiencies requiring repair or replacement.  Complete repair estimates and communicate findings to Service Management.  Perform maintenance and repair work necessary to meet dealership certification and resale standards.  Diagnose and repair engine, drivetrain, electrical, suspension, braking, and fuel system issues.  Ensure all motorcycles comply with state safety requirements and manufacturer specifications.    Motorcycle Assembly & Builds  Assemble new motorcycles according to manufacturer guidelines and dealership standards.  Install accessories and guest-requested upgrades.  Perform pre-delivery inspections (PDI) on new units.  Build and prepare motorcycles for showroom display and guest delivery.  Verify proper operation of all systems before units are released for sale.  Maintain accurate documentation of completed builds and inspections.    Inventory Preparation  Prioritize internal repair orders to support used unit sales and inventory turnover goals.  Maintain high standards of quality, appearance, and reliability for all showroom units.  Coordinate with Parts Department to ensure timely procurement of required components.  Assist with seasonal inventory preparation and special dealership events.    Quality Control & Compliance  Follow manufacturer service procedures and technical bulletins.  Adhere to all dealership safety policies and OSHA regulations.  Maintain a clean, organized, and professional work area.  Ensure all repair orders and documentation are completed accurately and on time.  Conduct final quality-control checks prior to unit release.    Performance Expectations  The Internal Work Technician will be evaluated on:  Quality and accuracy of inspections and repairs.  Timely completion of internal repair orders.  Inventory readiness and retail preparation standards.  Productivity and efficiency.  Compliance with safety and manufacturer procedures.  Contribution to dealership sales and customer satisfaction goals.    Reports To: Service Manager  Qualifications  Required Qualifications  High school diploma or equivalent.  Minimum 2 years of motorcycle service experience preferred.  Strong mechanical and electrical diagnostic skills.  Experience with powersports, motorcycle, ATV, or similar vehicle repair.  Ability to read and interpret service manuals and technical documents.  Valid motorcycle endorsement and driver's license preferred.  Ability to safely operate motorcycles of various makes and models.  Complete background check and drug screening   Preferred Qualifications  Manufacturer certifications (Harley-Davidson, Honda, Yamaha, Kawasaki, Suzuki, KTM, Polaris, BRP, etc.).  Experience performing used vehicle inspections and reconditioning.  Familiarity with dealership management systems and repair order software.  Welding, fabrication, or customization experience is a plus.    Knowledge, Skills & Abilities  Strong attention to detail.  Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities.  Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.  Strong time management and organizational skills.  Ability to meet productivity and quality objectives.  Effective communication skills and teamwork mindset.  Commitment to delivering motorcycles that exceed customer expectations.    Physical Requirements  Ability to lift up to 75 pounds regularly.  Ability to stand, bend, kneel, and work in a shop environment for extended periods.  Ability to safely move and operate motorcycles.  Ability to work around tools, chemicals, lubricants, and shop equipment.      Benefits Paid Time Off & Sick Time available first of the month after 60 days of employment Holiday Pay starting first day of employment Wellness Reimbursement Health Insurance HSA - Health Savings Account w/ company contributions 401K with Company Match after 60 days of employment Vision Insurance Dental Insurance Basic Life Insurance paid by company Voluntary Life Insurance Short Term Disability paid by company Long Term Disability Critical illness and Accident Coverage Prepaid Legal Insurance Identity Theft Protection Employee Assistance Program Discount/Referral Program Wellness Reimbursement
