Elk Creek Animal Hospital of Hikes Point is an established two-doctor practice looking for an experienced Licensed Veterinary Technician to join our fantastic team. What You’ll Do

• Assist veterinarians in providing high-quality medical care to patients
• Perform technical procedures including injections, blood draws, and IV catheter placement
• Administer medications and treatments as directed by veterinarians
• Monitor patients during procedures, treatments, and hospitalization
• Prepare patients for surgery and assist veterinarians during surgical procedures
• Monitor anesthesia and support patients throughout surgical procedures
• Maintain cleanliness and sterility of surgical instruments and equipment
• Provide post-operative care and closely monitor patient recovery
• Educate pet owners on medications, treatments, preventive care, and at-home instructions
• Maintain complete and accurate patient medical records
• Communicate patient updates clearly with veterinarians and other members of the medical team
• Help maintain a clean, organized, and efficient treatment environment

What You’ll Bring

• Current veterinary technician license or credential as required by the state
• At least one year of Veterinary Technician experience or equivalent education and training
• Strong animal-handling and restraint skills
• Experience with venipuncture, catheter placement, and medication administration
• Comfort assisting with surgical and anesthetic procedures
• Familiarity with veterinary software and electronic medical records
• Strong communication, organization, and attention to detail
• Compassionate approach to patients and the people who love them
• Collaborative, dependable, team-first mindset
• Desire to continue learning and developing your veterinary nursing skills
