Elk Creek Animal Hospital of Hikes Point is an established two-doctor practice looking for an experienced Licensed Veterinary Technician to join our fantastic team. Our Hikes Point hospital is one of three Elk Creek Animal Hospital locations, giving interested team members the opportunity to learn more about our other locations while building their career within a connected veterinary community.

What You’ll Do
- Assist veterinarians in providing high-quality medical care to patients
- Perform technical procedures including injections, blood draws, and IV catheter placement
- Administer medications and treatments as directed by veterinarians
- Monitor patients during procedures, treatments, and hospitalization
- Prepare patients for surgery and assist veterinarians during surgical procedures
- Monitor anesthesia and support patients throughout surgical procedures
- Maintain cleanliness and sterility of surgical instruments and equipment
- Provide post-operative care and closely monitor patient recovery
- Educate pet owners on medications, treatments, preventive care, and at-home instructions
- Maintain complete and accurate patient medical records
- Communicate patient updates clearly with veterinarians and other members of the medical team
- Help maintain a clean, organized, and efficient treatment environment
What You’ll Bring
- Current veterinary technician license or credential as required by the state
- At least one year of Veterinary Technician experience or equivalent education and training
- Strong animal-handling and restraint skills
- Experience with venipuncture, catheter placement, and medication administration
- Comfort assisting with surgical and anesthetic procedures
- Familiarity with veterinary software and electronic medical records
- Strong communication, organization, and attention to detail
- Compassionate approach to patients and the people who love them
- Collaborative, dependable, team-first mindset
- Desire to continue learning and developing your veterinary nursing skills
