What You'll Do

As a Lead Direct Support Professional (DSP), you will:

  • Partner with Group Home Managers to ensure high-quality services and compliance with program standards.
  • Provide leadership, coaching, and mentorship to Direct Support Professionals.
  • Support daily residential operations and promote a safe, healthy, and person-centered environment.
  • Assist individuals with daily living skills, including cooking, housekeeping, personal hygiene, and independent living activities.
  • Support health, wellness, and personal care needs while encouraging healthy lifestyle choices.
  • Promote community integration through recreational activities, social engagement, shopping, and community participation.
  • Assist individuals in developing budgeting, money management, communication, and relationship-building skills.
  • Communicate effectively with guardians, healthcare providers, and community agencies.
  • Advocate for individuals' rights, dignity, independence, and personal choice.
  • Maintain accurate documentation, reporting, and compliance with agency policies and procedures.

Qualifications

Required

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Valid driver's license
  • Minimum of three (3) years of Direct Support Professional experience supporting individuals with behavioral needs
  • Ability to successfully complete state and federal criminal background checks
  • Ability to pass drug screening requirements
  • Ability to complete pre-employment physical and PPD testing
  • Willingness to complete all required orientation and pre-service training

Preferred

  • One (1) year of lead, supervisory, or team leadership experience
  • Experience working in residential services for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities

Schedule

  • Full-Time
  • Flexible schedule based on program needs
  • Weekend availability required
  • Holiday and evening shifts may be required
  • May provide support during staffing shortages or emergency coverage needs

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to lift, assist, and support individuals as needed
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, and move throughout a residential setting
  • Ability to participate in community activities and transportation needs
  • Ability to perform essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodation
