Role summary:The (USA) Technician, Facility Services, HVAC-Refrigeration, is responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing HVAC and refrigeration systems in commercial and industrial settings. This role involves interpreting technical schematics, diagnosing mechanical and electrical issues, and ensuring compliance with regulatory standards. The Technician leads and mentors team members, manages service calls, and supports preventive maintenance programs to optimize system performance and reliability. Effective communication with customers and collaboration with management are essential to deliver quality service while adhering to safety protocols and operational procedures. The Facility Services HVAC-Refrigeration team is dedicated to installing, maintaining, and repairing commercial and industrial HVAC and refrigeration systems. Team members collaborate closely to ensure systems operate efficiently and comply with safety and regulatory standards. They support each other by sharing expertise, mentoring, and following established procedures to deliver quality service. The team uses advanced tools and digital systems to manage workloads and respond promptly to service needs. What you'll do:
- Install, configure, and calibrate HVAC and refrigeration systems, including ductwork, control panels, and building pneumatics.
- Diagnose and resolve mechanical, electrical, and refrigerant-related issues in commercial and industrial equipment.
- Perform preventive maintenance to extend equipment life and minimize downtime.
- Conduct inspections and repairs in compliance with federal, state, and local regulations, including refrigerant handling protocols.
- Lead and mentor field teams on technical procedures and safety practices.
- Manage service calls, coordinate with external providers, and maintain accurate documentation and inventory.
- Operate company vehicles safely to complete service assignments within assigned regions.
What you'll bring:
- Proven experience installing, maintaining, and repairing HVAC and refrigeration systems in commercial or industrial settings.
- Ability to interpret layout plans, schematics, and building codes to ensure accurate system configuration and compliance.
- Skilled in diagnosing mechanical, electrical, and refrigerant-related issues and implementing effective solutions.
- Knowledge of OSHA standards and EPA 608 refrigerant handling protocols.
- Experience leading teams and mentoring technicians on technical procedures and safety practices.
- Strong communication skills to explain technical issues and coordinate with customers and service providers.
- Capability to manage service calls, inventory, and documentation using digital tools.
- Valid driver’s license and ability to operate company vehicles safely.

The hourly wage range for this position is $29.00 - $58.00* *The actual hourly rate will equal or exceed the required minimum wage applicable to the job location. Additional compensation in the form of premiums may be paid in amounts ranging from $0.35 per hour to $3.00 per hour in specific circumstances. Premiums may be based on schedule, facility, season, or specific work performed. Multiple premiums may apply if applicable criteria are met.

Minimum Qualifications...
Outlined below are the required minimum qualifications for this position. If none are listed, there are no minimum qualifications.
Option 1: Vocational or technical HVAC/R certification and 2 years’ experience in mechanical maintenance or construction-related field for commercial HVAC/R and building controls.Option 2: 4 years’ experience in mechanical maintenance or construction-related field for commercial HVAC/R and building controls or related field.
Hold and maintains Type I and Type II or Universal Environmental Protection Agency certification for refrigerant handling.
Where required, HVAC-R/ Mechanical Journeyman.
Valid state-issued driver’s license and ability to pass motor vehicle report.• Commercial driving record with no convictions for DUI, DWI, OUI within the last five (5) years.
Commercial driving record with no more than two (2) moving violations in the last three (3) years.
No preventable accidents while operating a commercial motor vehicle in the last three (3) years.
No serious traffic violations, as defined by the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations, while operating a commercial motor vehicle in the last three (3) years.
