Job DetailsJob Location: Madison Heights, VA 24572Salary Range: $105,000.00 - $130,000.00 Salary/yearGeneral Position Summary: The Chief Operations Officer’s (COO) role is to effectively manage the daily internal administrative and clinical operations. Oversee major projects, such as new sites and programs and provides general organizational leadership. This position reports to the President & Chief Executive Officer (PCEO), along with working closely with other senior leadership. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: 1. Provides general oversight of operations of all JHC programs at all sites, including mobile units. 2. Assists the PCEO in the administration of policies, plans, programs, and proposals that will further the goals and objectives stated in the annual grant application, program expectations and organizational strategic plan. 3. Responsible for Operational Analysis yielding improved patient experience, access and workflow and obtains and compiles data to complete statistical analysis and other reports for the PCEO. 4. Participates in the formulation of the annual grant application as well as any other significant grant application. 5. Responsible for supervision of physical plant operations, including facilities management and transportation departments. Oversee all major and minor construction and A/R projects. 6. Responsible for leadership of Pharmacy Department and 340B Program in collaboration with the Director of Pharmacy. 7. Serves as a member of the Executive Leadership Team. 8. Represents JHC in the community at events, by serving on local boards, and through collaboration with community partners. 9. Prepares monthly reports and presents to the Board of Directors, such as productivity reports, BOD trainings and updates on major initiatives. 10. Oversee the preparation and annual submission of the UDS Report. 11. Assists in oversight and management of JHC’s grant deliverables. 12. Performs other duties and responsibilities periodically, which the PCEO may deem necessary and appropriate. 13. Must demonstrate good internal and external customer service skills. 14. Staff must demonstrate an understanding of the intent, and follow the standards and guidelines of HRSA, AAAHC, BPHC, CMS, and OSHA. 15. Delegates responsibilities to ensure team members grow in their roles and responsibilities, to ensure bench depth in the organization. 16. Must possess the ability to follow supervisor’s instructions and maintain regular attendance. Other Functions: 1. A Certification in Health Care Management or B.S. degree in Business Management with at least three years of administrative experience in a health or human service agency. 2. Must be skilled in planning, coordinating, and organizing efforts. 3. Must possess extensive interpersonal and communication skills and exhibit mature judgment. 4. Should have operational knowledge of the inner workings of a Community Health Center as applies to the Corporate Office and the Centers. 5. Should have a functioning knowledge of the organization’s relationship to appropriate agencies and its affiliation with the Department of Health and Human Services. 6. Must be physically able to lift, carry and handle equipment, supplies, and other program material. Physical Demand and Working Environment: Fast paced office setting with travel to other offices often. Lifting and/or exerting force up to 15 pounds occasionally, with frequently moving of objects. Work requires speaking, sitting, bending, walking, standing, hearing, and stooping, kneeling, and repetitive motion with certain activities. Eight (8) hours of constant computer usage.
