Assistant General Manager – Holiday Inn Express & Suites Maize

About the Role
We’re looking for a hands-on, people-focused Assistant General Manager to support daily hotel operations and uphold the high service standards of our IHG Select Brand property. This role is ideal for a hospitality leader who thrives on creating exceptional guest experiences, supporting team development, and partnering closely with the Area General Manager to drive overall hotel success.

Key Responsibilities

• Support the Area General Manager in overseeing all hotel operations, ensuring alignment with IHG brand standards
• Foster a positive, team-oriented culture that prioritizes guest satisfaction and employee engagement in line with the Mid-Continent Hospitality Mission Statement.
• Lead, coach, and develop associates across front desk, housekeeping, and food & beverage
• Assist with hiring, onboarding, scheduling, and performance management
• Ensure consistent delivery of exceptional guest service, resolving issues with professionalism and care
• Monitor operational performance, guest feedback, and service scores to identify opportunities for improvement
• Support financial performance through labor management, cost controls, and operational efficiency
• Maintain a visible presence throughout the hotel, modeling hospitality and service excellence
• Uphold safety, cleanliness, and compliance standards across all departments

Requirements

 Qualifications

• 2–4 years of hotel operations experience; IHG Select Brand experience preferred
• Strong leadership skills with a passion for developing and supporting teams
• Guest-focused mindset with the ability to resolve challenges quickly and effectively
• Excellent communication and organizational skills
• Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
• Familiarity with IHG systems ( Hotel Key, Merlin etc.) is a plus
• Flexible schedule availability, including weekends and holidays as needed

Pay: From $38,000 - $40,000 per year/ DOE
