Our client, an established pharmaceutical manufacturing organisation in Malta, is seeking an Engineering Technician to join its Engineering team.

Reporting to the Engineering Supervisor, the successful candidate will be responsible for carrying out preventive and corrective maintenance, calibration activities, equipment qualification and general technical support across production equipment and utilities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform and document preventive maintenance according to scheduled maintenance programmes.

  • Carry out and document corrective maintenance interventions on production equipment and utilities.

  • Support the Engineering Supervisor in maintaining the effectiveness and functionality of equipment and utilities.

  • Perform in-house calibration of production and utilities equipment according to established calibration programmes.

  • Support subcontracted technicians during external calibration activities.

  • Execute equipment qualification protocols as required.

  • Provide technical support to the Production Department during equipment setup for production runs.

  • Ensure spare parts used during maintenance interventions are correctly documented in the appropriate system.

  • Ensure all mechanical and electrical safety features remain effective and fully functional.

  • Carry out cutting and welding operations (hot works) when required.

  • Maintain production machinery, utilities and surrounding areas to high standards of cleanliness and safety.

  • Support ongoing Engineering departmental projects.

  • Assist with routine pest-control activities within the plant when required.

Requirements

  • Relevant technical qualification from MCAST or equivalent, and/or possession of an Electrical Licence A or B.

  • Minimum 2 years' experience working as a Technician or in a similar technical role.

  • Excellent written and spoken English.

  • Experience working within a GMP environment would be considered an advantage but is not essential.

  • Good computer literacy and working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.

  • Willingness to work on a shift basis is essential. The current shifts are:

    • Morning: 06:00 – 14:00

    • Afternoon: 14:00 – 22:00

  • Applicants who require a work permit will also be considered.
