A little about this position:

  • The Risk & Safety Director is responsible for the strategic leadership, development, implementation, oversight, and continuous improvement of the resort's safety, risk management, and compliance programs. This role ensures the safety of employees and guests while ensuring compliance with applicable federal, state, and local laws and regulations.
  • The Director oversees the intake, investigation, documentation, and resolution of guest incidents, complaints, and claims related to safety, injury, property damage, and liability exposure. Responsibilities include the administration, General Liability, Auto Liability, and Property claims, as well as related reporting, recordkeeping, and risk mitigation activities This position has a dotted line to, and works closely with, the VP of Human Resources related to employee safety and wellness programs, including partnering with HR on workers compensation.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 5+ years of experience in developing and/or directing safety programs or an advanced degree in a related field 
  • Previous management experience required.
  • Must be at least 21 years of age
  • Significant knowledge of safety and environmental regulations specific to ski area operations.
  • A talented communicator, who acts as an ambassador of goodwill to both employees and guests, having a calm and collective demeanor, especially during challenging operations.
  • A valid California driver’s license with an acceptable driving record.
  • Must be able to pass Company certification as a Snowmobile Operator and be an advanced skier/snowboarder.
  • Able to read, write, and comply with documents such as safety rules, operating instructions, maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals, including accurately recording data in a timely fashion.
  • Ability to work flexible schedules, weekends and holidays.

​Pay: $95,649.29 - $102,186.97 per year
