We are seeking a caring, enthusiastic, and dependable VPK Teacher to provide a safe, nurturing, and engaging learning environment for preschool-aged children. The VPK Teacher will support children's social, emotional, cognitive, language, and physical development while preparing them for a successful transition to kindergarten.
Responsibilities
- Plan and implement age-appropriate, engaging VPK lessons and activities.
- Follow Florida VPK standards and curriculum requirements.
- Create a safe, welcoming, and developmentally appropriate classroom environment.
- Support children's social-emotional development and positive behavior.
- Encourage language, literacy, mathematics, science, creativity, and problem-solving skills.
- Maintain accurate attendance, developmental, and classroom records.
- Communicate regularly and professionally with parents and guardians.
- Monitor children's health, safety, and overall well-being.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and stimulating classroom.
- Work cooperatively with other teachers, administrators, and support staff.
- Participate in staff meetings, professional development, and required training.
- Follow all center policies and applicable Florida childcare and VPK regulations.
Qualifications
- Meet Florida VPK teacher qualification requirements.
- Required early childhood education credentials or coursework as applicable.
- Previous experience working with preschool-aged children preferred.
- Strong communication and classroom-management skills.
- Patient, dependable, nurturing, and enthusiastic personality.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- Current CPR/First Aid certification or willingness to obtain it.
- Ability to pass required background screening and meet applicable childcare employment requirements.
