In this role, you’ll serve as an important connection between patients, families, dental providers, insurance companies, and outside healthcare organizations. You’ll help coordinate referrals, medical clearances, insurance authorizations, financial arrangements, and other requirements so patients can move forward with their recommended care.

As a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC), Noble is mission-driven and committed to providing high-quality, accessible healthcare to the communities we serve.

What You'll Do

  • Coordinate the administrative requirements needed to successfully complete patient dental treatment plans.
  • Work with patients and guardians to facilitate completion of recommended treatment.
  • Coordinate referrals with outside healthcare providers and organizations.
  • Obtain medical clearances and coordinate required documentation.
  • Obtain treatment pre-authorizations through Medicaid (EDS) and private insurance plans.
  • Prepare and communicate estimated patient financial responsibilities for elective dental procedures.
  • Process referrals, medical clearances, prior authorizations, financial agreements, and custodial paperwork within established timelines.
  • Help patients understand the administrative and financial steps involved in their dental care.
  • Maintain patient confidentiality and comply with HIPAA and organizational privacy requirements.
  • Accurately document information within the EHR and scheduling systems.
  • Support Noble's quality improvement initiatives and team goals.
  • Work collaboratively with dental providers, clinical staff, patients, guardians, and outside organizations.

What We're Looking For

Required:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Knowledge of dental terminology, dental treatment plans, and dental office processes.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong organizational and prioritization skills.
  • Proficiency with computers, EHR, and scheduling systems.
  • Knowledge of dental insurance and the ability to estimate patient treatment costs.
  • Understanding of HIPAA and patient privacy requirements.

Preferred:

  • Education or experience in dental assisting, dental hygiene, or a related dental/healthcare field.
  • Experience with dental insurance, prior authorizations, referrals, or treatment coordination.
  • Experience working in a healthcare or dental clinic environment.

What Makes Someone Successful in This Role?

The ideal candidate is someone who is organized, detail-oriented, patient-focused, and comfortable managing multiple priorities. You should be able to communicate effectively with patients and families, navigate insurance requirements, recognize when additional guidance is needed, and follow through to ensure nothing falls through the cracks.
