Outpatient Physical Therapist Assistant
Manville, New Jersey
Salary Range: $70,000–$80,000/year, based on experience
Schedule: Monday–Friday | 9:00 AM–5:00 PM
Patient Volume: Approximately 1–2 patients each hour
Position: Full-Time PTA
The Role
We’re looking for an experienced outpatient PTA who enjoys spending most of the workday directly with patients.
The Physical Therapist will establish the treatment plan. Your role is to put that plan into action by guiding exercises, working on specific physical limitations, watching how patients respond, and communicating useful updates back to the PT.
The work is practical and varied. Some patients may be early in recovery, while others may be preparing to return to work, exercise, or normal daily activity.
Your Responsibilities
- Follow established physical therapy plans of care
- Work one-on-one with patients during scheduled treatment visits
- Provide therapeutic exercise and movement-based activities
- Help improve strength, range of motion, stability, and endurance
- Observe changes in patient performance from visit to visit
- Notify the Physical Therapist of concerns or meaningful progress
- Educate patients on proper exercise performance
- Reinforce assigned home exercise programs
- Keep treatment documentation current and complete
- Support safe use of rehabilitation equipment
- Valid New Jersey PTA License
- Completion of an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program
- Previous outpatient PT experience
- Orthopedic rehabilitation experience preferred
- Comfortable working closely with both patients and Physical Therapists
