We’re looking for a Receiving Specialist to join our team in South Deerfield, MA. This is a hands-on role for someone who enjoys working in a fast-paced warehouse/manufacturing environment and has experience with receiving, inventory, shipping and receiving, and forklift operations.
What You'll Do
- Receive incoming materials and verify shipments against packing slips, manifests, and delivery documents.
- Verify product quantities, counts, weights, and shipment documentation for accuracy.
- Identify and report damaged, missing, or incorrect materials.
- Enter receiving transactions into the company ERP system and maintain accurate electronic records.
- Scan and maintain receiving documentation for electronic filing.
- Perform cycle counts and make inventory adjustments as needed.
- Work closely with Purchasing, Accounting, Shipping/Receiving, and Receiving Inspection to resolve discrepancies and keep materials moving.
- Process returned materials and notify the appropriate departments of RMA activity.
- Receive and process Stock Transfer Orders (STOs).
- Coordinate the movement of materials and paperwork to and from outside vendors.
- Assist with material handling and moving inventory throughout the facility.
- Train Material Handlers on receiving procedures and processes.
- Interact professionally with delivery drivers, vendors, and internal teams.
- Follow company safety, quality, and operating procedures.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives and other duties as assigned.
What We're Looking For
- High school diploma/GED or equivalent experience.
- 1–2 years of receiving, warehouse, or shipping/receiving experience.
- Experience operating sit-down and stand-up forklifts.
- Ability to pass the required forklift certification.
- Basic computer skills with experience using Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Ability to accurately complete paperwork and follow written and verbal instructions.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to lift up to 40 lbs. as required.
- Flexibility to work overtime, including evenings and weekends when needed.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with SAP or another ERP system, particularly materials management and shipping/receiving functions.
- Experience working in a warehouse or manufacturing environment.
- Experience working in a GMP environment.
- Experience with inventory control and cycle counting.
- Lean Manufacturing and/or Six Sigma experience.
