Position Summary

The Sr. Facility Manager provides leadership and oversight for facility operations, infrastructure reliability, operating, capital budgets, project execution, contractor management, and continuous improvement initiatives. As a strategic partner to site leadership, this role ensures facility capabilities and infrastructure support safe, compliant, reliable, and efficient operations while enabling future organizational growth.

Principal Responsibilities

• Ā  Ā Manage and maintain R&D, laboratory, and office facilities to ensure clean, safe, operational, and compliant work environments.
• Ā  Ā Ensure reliable operation and maintenance of facility infrastructure, including HVAC systems, cleanrooms, utilities, electrical distribution, access control systems, fire/life safety systems, and environmental controls.
• Ā  Ā Plan, schedule, and manage operational service providers, including monitoring contractor performance, service quality, and compliance with site requirements.
• Ā  Ā Utilize CMMS software to manage work orders, preventive maintenance schedules, asset records, and maintenance history.
• Ā  Ā Lead facility space planning, renovations, and capital projects, including scope development, budgeting, bid solicitation, contractor selection, design coordination, execution, and project closeout. Manage architects, engineers, consultants, and contractors to ensure projects meet safety, quality, compliance, schedule, and budget requirements.
• Ā  Ā Partner with Environmental Health & Safety to implement facility safety programs and employee training initiatives while ensuring compliance with OSHA, EPA, FDA, ISO, and applicable state and local regulations.
• Ā  Ā Provide after-hours and weekend support for facility emergencies.
• Ā  Ā Participate in insurance, safety, and facility inspections.
• Ā  Ā Support internal and external audits by ensuring facility records, maintenance documentation, and infrastructure controls remain inspection ready.
• Ā  Ā Lead and develop facility personnel through staffing, workload management, goal setting, coaching, performance management, training, and professional development.
• Ā  Ā Monitor industry trends, regulatory changes, and emerging technologies to identify and recommend improvements that enhance facility performance, efficiency, and compliance.
• Ā  Ā Develop long-range utility, energy, and infrastructure plans to improve system performance, reliability, and environmental sustainability.
• Ā  Ā Provide strategic recommendations to site leadership regarding capital investments, facility risks, resource requirements, and infrastructure priorities.
• Ā  Ā Maintain and update facility-related quality system documentation, procedures, and records as required.

• Ā  Ā Develop and manage departmental operating and capital budgets, including forecasting, expenditure tracking, and financial performance monitoring.
• Ā  Ā Establish department goals, priorities, and performance expectations that align with site and business objectives.

Education / Experience Requirements

• Ā  Ā Bachelor's degree in Facilities Management, Engineering, Architecture, Business, or related field preferred. Equivalent combination of education and relevant experience may be considered.
• Ā  Ā Minimum eight years of progressive facilities management experience, including building operations, infrastructure maintenance, or construction project management, required.
• Ā  Ā Experience in regulated manufacturing, medical device, life sciences, pharmaceutical, or laboratory environments preferred.

Specialized Skills / Other Requirements

• Ā  Ā Working knowledge of GMP environments and quality system requirements within medical device industry.
• Ā  Ā Working knowledge of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, mechanical, infrastructure, and life safety systems
• Ā  Ā Experience managing capital projects, renovations, and contractor services.
• Ā  Ā Strong project management, organizational, and prioritization skills
• Ā  Ā Ability to manage multiple priorities within a regulated environment.
• Ā  Ā Strong problem-solving, analytical, and decision-making skills
• Ā  Ā Effective verbal and written communication skills
• Ā  Ā Experience with Building Automation Systems (BAS)
• Ā  Ā Familiarity with AutoCAD and facility layout software preferred.
• Ā  Ā Proficiency with CMMS applications and Microsoft 365 software
• Ā  Ā Ability to influence and communicate effectively with all levels of the organization, including senior leadership.
• Ā  Ā Strong employee coaching, conflict resolution, and performance management skills.
• Ā  Ā Professional certification such as CFM, FMP, PMP, or LEED accreditation preferred.
• Ā  Ā Ability to read and interpret facility drawings, construction documents, and technical specifications.

Ā 

The pay range for this position at commencement of employment is expected to be between $132,900 - $199,400, however, base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.Ā  The total compensation package for this position will also include benefits such as medical, prescription drug, dental and vision insurance, flexible spending accounts, participation in 401(k) savings plan, and various paid time off benefits, such as PTO, short- and long-term disability and parental leave, dependent on the position offered. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment.
