Job DetailsJob Location: Main Campus - Marietta, GA 30060Position Type: Adjunct FacultyJob Category: EducationAdjunct Faculty, Public Health Essential Job Functions Life University seeks applicants for an Adjunct Faculty to serve in our new Bachelor of Science degree program in Public Health. Our public health program emphasizes wellness, prevention, service, and community engagement within a population health framework. Supporting the University’s mission and vision, the program will approach public health as the study and promotion of conditions that support human potential and reduce barriers to optimal health and well-being. We are seeking dynamic instructors who will bring a creative and student-centered approach to the classroom and online instruction. Once hired, Adjunct Faculty in public health will be invited to teach and develop courses as needed. Primarily responsible for the instruction, supervision, and evaluation of students in the classroom as well as course assessments for the department. Prepare a syllabus for each course taught using the college template. Teach class in a professional manner, teaching the material that is present in the syllabus and course outline. Start and end each class on time. Communicate your teaching and student office hours schedule for each quarter and be present virtually during student office hours. Appropriately maintain all necessary records for each course taught. Attend scheduled meetings and events as appropriate and as requested by Assistant Dean of Social Sciences. Cultivate in oneself and others a commitment to helpfulness, building relationships, collaborating to find the best solution, and serving students with care and integrity. QualificationsEducation, Training and/or Experience A minimum of three years of teaching or related professional experience is required. Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Personal Characteristics Strong teaching, presentation, and facilitation skills. Commitment to empowering students as scholars and professionals. Exceptional writing skills and experience. Ability to work with and maintain confidential student information. Strong interpersonal skills. High degree of initiative and independent judgment. Well-developed analytical and problem-solving abilities. Strong multimedia and computer skills. Commitment to an ethic of care and service. Preferred Qualifications A doctoral degree in Public Health or a closely related field is preferred. Candidates with a master's degree in public health or a graduate degree in a related field with relevant coursework and/or professional experience will also be considered. Research experience in Public Health or a related field is preferred. Experience developing, designing, or implementing new courses is preferred. Working Conditions Work performed in a general academic environment. Courses are offered on ground and online.
