Tuff Shed is recruiting for a highly motivated Cross Dock Supervisor to contribute to the success of our Cross Dock location. This position offers the opportunity to make a real impact to the Company!

The Cross Dock Supervisor (CD Supervisor) is responsible for the supervision of the cross dock location; this location reports to the general/district manager (gm/dm) within the market. s/he must ensure the cross dock operates in a safe, efficient and effective manner; producing quality products; maximizing customer satisfaction; minimizing job accidents and turnover; increasing store revenue and profitability.

The essential functions of this position include, but are not limited to:

Customer Service & Sales

    • Conducts Site Checks as required, adhering to processes and procedures
    • Provides back-up coverage for the Cross Dock Sales & Design Consultant: answer phones, greet customers, collect customer leads
    • Performs customer service duties: resolve warranty issues
    • Obtain building permits from building department

Operations

    • Communicates to the GM/DM regarding sales and activities at the Cross Dock
    • Build schedules, including subcontractor scheduling with the Operations Manager/Production Manager/Scheduling Coordinator
    • Participates in identifying qualified subcontractors for the Cross Dock location; maintain relationships with the subcontractors
    • Performs customer service warranty repair tasks on customer sites
    • Receives and unloads kits from the factory store
    • Oversees and coordinates customer builds, home show events, sales floor and incoming sales calls, site inspections, customer permits, warranty calls
    • performs quality control inspections
    • Inspects and maintains displays, customer repairs
    • Responsible for the cleanliness of the Cross Dock, ensures tools and equipment are secured, inventoried, maintained
    • Performs monthly cycle counts and ongoing inventory management
    • Oversees Cross Dock fleet and DOT policies are adhered to
    • Supervisors safety aspects of the Cross Dock as required by OSHA and Tuff Shed

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

    • Ability to work independently in a self-directed setting and with minimal supervision
    • Detail oriented and the ability to organize workload, along with strong follow-up, analytical, problem-solving, reasoning, and sound decision-making skills
    • Hands-on computer skills in MS Office Suite and Internet applications required; experience in utilizing Customer Relationship Management (CRM) software including, Salesforce.com or similar systems as highly preferred
    • Ability to solve problems using sound logic and good business judgment
    • Ability to use arithmetic, mathematical, accounting, and financial tools as they apply to Tuff Shed business
    • Ability to read, write and understand instructions given orally, in writing and/or in diagram form
    • Ability to prepare written correspondence and reports that create a professional image for Tuff Shed
    • Ability to effectively communicate at all levels, including customers, business partners, suppliers, co-workers, managers, and the general public
    • Must have a valid driver's license and acceptable MVR
    • DOT, OSHA, and employment law knowledge highly preferred
    • Must be able to successfully complete Tuff Shed Forklift Certification

EDUCATION

  • High school diploma or equivalent
