Job DetailsJob Location: Massachusets Container Corp L20 - Marlborough, MA 01752Salary Range: $80,000.00 - $90,000.00 Salary/yearPay: $80,000.00 - $90,000.00 per year Job description: Human Resources Generalist The Human Resources Generalist reports to the Corporate HR Team and supports HR operations at Massachusetts Container Corp. This role works closely with the Human Resources Corporate Team to deliver effective, compliant, and employee-focused HR services. This role provides support in benefits administration, employee relations, training, onboarding, policy implementation, recruitment and employment practices, and payroll backup support. Responsibilities: · Assists with the administration of employee benefit programs, including medical, dental, vision, life insurance, disability, 401(k), and FMLA. · Serves as a primary point of contact for employee benefit questions, resolves routine benefit-related issues, and explains plan eligibility and administrative procedures. · Maintains benefit plan eligibility systems and records, auditing information for accuracy, completeness, and compliance with company policies and administrative guidelines. · Manages enrollment status for new hires, terminated employees, retirees, and other employee status changes. · Conducts one-on-one meetings with employees to explain available benefit options and assist with benefit enrollment decisions. · Prepares employee communications, educational materials, and other resources related to benefit programs and plan offerings. · Administers and tracks leave-of-absence claims and benefit program requirements, ensuring timely follow-up and accurate documentation. · Assists with preparing payroll-related benefit enrollments and changes, including verification of deductions, FSA contributions, and termination-related updates. · Serves as the designated backup to payroll for all divisions, including assisting with payroll processing in Paycom, reviewing time and attendance data, verifying employee status changes, supporting deductions and benefit-related payroll updates, and helping ensure payroll is processed accurately, timely, and in accordance with company policies and applicable regulations. · Conducts or coordinates background checks and employee eligibility verifications. · Reviews, tracks, and maintains employee training records, including skills training matrices and required compliance documentation. · Supports new hire orientation, onboarding activities, and employee recognition programs. · Performs routine administrative tasks required to support HR programs, including compensation, benefits, leave administration, employee records, and talent management processes. · Responds to employment-related inquiries from applicants, employees, and supervisors, referring complex or sensitive matters to the Human Resources Director as appropriate. · Enters and maintains workers’ compensation accident investigation information in the appropriate portal and supports required follow-up documentation. · Attends and participates in employee relations matters, including minor disciplinary meetings, terminations, and workplace investigations. · Supports compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, as well as company policies, procedures, and recommended HR best practices. · Maintains current knowledge of HR trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and emerging technologies in human resources, talent management, payroll, and employment law. Knowledge, skills and abilities: · Associate degree in Business Administration, Human Resources, or a related field preferred. · Minimum of three (3) years of human resources experience required, preferably in a manufacturing environment. · Working knowledge of federal, state, and local employment laws and HR compliance requirements. · Experience with HRIS and payroll systems required; Paycom experience strongly preferred. · Payroll experience required, including familiarity with payroll processing, time and attendance review, payroll deductions, employee status changes, and confidential payroll records. · Ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and work independently with strong follow-through. · Union experience required, including experience supporting employee relations, contract interpretation, grievance-related matters, and compliance with collective bargaining agreement requirements. · Knowledge of company policies, procedures, and benefit programs, or the ability and willingness to learn them quickly. · Strong problem-solving skills, sound judgment, and a sense of urgency in addressing employee and business needs. · Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to interact professionally at all levels of the organization. · Proficiency with Microsoft Office products. · Excellent interpersonal, organizational, conflict-resolution, and attention-to-detail skills. · Ability to maintain strict confidentiality and build effective working relationships. · Bilingual English/Spanish skills a plus.
