About the Role:
We are adding an Architectural Estimator to develop accurate and competitive project estimates in within the architectural discipline. This position directly supports Chief Estimators in developing cost competitive bids on public works water and wastewater self-perform construction projects. This role works closely with internal teams, subcontractors, and vendors to build detailed scopes, analyze costs, and help position projects for success.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experienceÂ
- 1-3 years of experience in construction estimatingÂ
- Strong understanding of estimating processes, takeoffs, and cost analysisÂ
- Ability to read and interpret plans and specifications
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with water or wastewater construction projectsÂ
- Experience working with a self-perform contractorÂ
- Familiarity with subcontractor and vendor coordinationÂ
- Experience with cost tracking and historical data analysis
Responsibilities:
- Attend pre-bid meetings and review project requirementsÂ
- Perform quantity takeoffs and develop detailed scopes of workÂ
- Solicit and review vendor and subcontractor quotesÂ
- Ensure at least three quotes per scope when possibleÂ
- Analyze pricing and identify discrepancies or risksÂ
- Coordinate with estimating leadership to finalize bidsÂ
- Track and maintain bid documentation and recordsÂ
- Support DBE participation and documentation requirementsÂ
- Utilize cost data, labor reports, and historical information in estimatesÂ
- Participate in turnover meetings and communicate project risks and opportunities
