Tool Maker - Wire EDM | Mason, OH 
1st Shift

Hi-Tek Manufacturing is now hiring for an experienced Toolmaker with WEDM experience who wishes to advance his or her career in advanced manufacturing technology by executing a high level of workmanship.

Essential Tasks:
• Ability to set up, operate and program wire EDM machinery specifically Makino and or Mitsubishi machines.
• Read and interpret GD&T and engineering drawings to translate into CNC toolpaths.
• Create or modify special holding fixtures, tooling and electrodes for EDM-based processes.
• Inspect workpieces through usage of CMMs, manual gauging, and other gauging or inspection tooling to maintain strict tolerances (±0.0001").
• Specialize in the construction, repair, maintenance, and calibration of machine shop tools, dies, jigs, fixtures, and instruments.
• Operate various machines in a toolroom environment including lathes, vertical milling machines, surface grinders, and associated equipment both manual and CNC

Skills & Qualifications:
•  5+ years' wire EDM experience with preferred experience in high-precision tooling.
• Working fluency in CAD/CAM programming, specifically Esprit WEDM CAM software, Solidworks /Siemens NX CAD/CAM a plus.
• Ability to interpret technical specifications and calculate tolerances.
• Perform under AS9100 quality standards and NADCAP accreditation.
• Maintain a safe and clean work environment by performing daily housekeeping duties.
• Any other duties needed to help drive our vision, fulfill our mission, and abide by our organization’s values.
• Accomplishes organization goals by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests, exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishment.
• Effective communication and people skills to maintain a working relationship with Quality, Engineering, and Management.
• Follow all Hi-Tek policies and procedures, including the use of proper PPE.

Education & Experience: 

• High school diploma or GED required.

• CNC Machining certificate from a Trade School preferred or acceptable work experience in lieu of schooling.

• Must meet the ITAR definition of §120.62 U.S. person.

• Knowledge of Fanuc, Mitsubishi, Makino, Hurco controls.

• Experience with G & M codes required

• Experience in an industrial/manufacturing environment, aerospace industry preferred.

• Troubleshooting / Critical thinking skills.

Physical Demand Levels:
• Lift, push and/or pull up to thirty-five (35lbs.) pounds regularly
• Operate overhead crane or other lifting equipment when necessary  
• Walking or climbing short flights of stairs as needed to perform job duties as assigned
• Routinely perform reaching, twisting, bending, lifting, and grasping
• Frequently use gross and fine motor skills to manage various parts, tools, and tooling
• Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color perception, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. 20/20 vision (natural or corrected) required with ability to pass annual vision test as required

Shift: Monday through Friday from 7:00 a.m. - 3:30 p.m.
*Overtime may be available as needed to fit the needs of the business.
Compensation: Up to $35/hour, based on experience
