Facilities Maintenance Technician
JOB SUMMARY
Responsible for assembling finished products using tools and machines and fabricating various types of products.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Study and interpret assembly instructions.
2. Read and interpret blueprints and sketches, assemble tools and materials.
3. Interpret measurements, verify specifications and alter dimensions to fit specifications.
4. Resolve assembly and production issues.
5. Troubleshoot malfunctions and perform repairs as needed.
6. Ensure parts are fitted and screwed properly.
7. Build prototypes and test products.
8. Build and modify guard rails, rack stands and other various items inside the plant along with fixing bent and damaged racks.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
1. High School Diploma or equivalent.
2. Welding certificate or 2 years of welding experience that includes Mig and Stick welding.
3. Forklift certified or experience operating heavy equipment.
4. Must have at least 2 years of experience in a similar type of role.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
1. Ability to work with your hands, whether directly manipulating components or using controls on an assembly machine.
2. Must be able to use a wide variety of power tools including drills, impact guns, and saws.
3. Must have basic math skills due to technological needs.
4. Must be able to read and understand blueprints, tape measures and manuals and work with computers, machines and motion-control robots.
5. Must be able to lift heavy objects during the fabrication/assembly process.
6. Must be able to speak fluent English.
PHYSICAL AND MENTAL REQUIREMENTS OF THE POSITION
1. Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
2. Must be able to stand on your feet for long periods of time, often doing repetitive motions.
3. While performing the duties of this job, is frequently required to stand, walk, sit, use hands to handle, manipulate, or feel objects, tools or controls, reach with hands and arms, climb stairs, talk and hear.
4. Must occasionally lift or move up to 50 pounds.
