Job DetailsJob Location: McDonough GA - McDonough, GA 30253Position Type: Full TimeJob Purpose Statement:   The position is responsible for operating commercial vehicles, 26,000 lbs or more, and abide by all laws, federal, state, and local, pertaining to the operation of these vehicles.   Summary of Responsibility: Safely drive operate commercial vehicles, 26,000 lbs or more Conduct inspections of trucks/trailers consisting of tire check, operation of lights, and damage. Safely operate material handling equipment, industrial trucks, hand trucks, and forklifts Transport correct trailer to the dock door or to the yard utilizing yard jockey Detect and report faulty operations and defective materials and packaging Maintain work equipment in a clean and orderly condition according to 5-S Maintain communication with the team to coordinate movement of materials necessary to ensure uninterrupted operation of production facilities Maintain required checks of power handling equipment Other duties as assigned Education, Experience and Skills Required: High School diploma or equivalent 6 months experience operating commercial vehicles Essential Functions: Effective written and verbal communication skills Ability to maintain a Class A CDL Ability to bend, squat and kneel, frequently Ability to lift average weighted materials, 50 lbs or less; up to 70 lbs occasionally   Personal Trait Profile: Ability to interface with employees and customers Ability to interpret instructions Ability to adapt to change Ability to problem solve and prioritize work Qualifications a { text-decoration: none; color: #464feb; } tr th, tr td { border: 1px solid #e6e6e6; } tr th { background-color: #f5f5f5; } High School Diploma or GED required. Valid Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with an acceptable driving record required. Minimum of 6 months to 1 year of experience operating commercial vehicles, trailers, or yard jockey equipment in a manufacturing, distribution, warehouse, or transportation environment preferred. Current forklift certification or the ability to obtain certification upon hire. Knowledge of DOT regulations, vehicle inspection requirements, and safe driving practices. Ability to safely maneuver trucks, trailers, and yard equipment in confined spaces and around pedestrians, equipment, and facilities. Familiarity with pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections and basic equipment maintenance procedures. Ability to read, understand, and follow written and verbal instructions, work orders, shipping documents, and safety procedures. Strong commitment to safety, quality, and operational excellence.
