Job Summary

To support our extraordinary teams who build great products and contribute to our growth, we're looking to add a/an Engineering Tech (BGA) to our team.

Reporting to the Process Engineering Manager, the Engineering Tech (BGA) will perform complex engineering tests, troubleshooting, data analysis, and product validation activities while supporting BGA rework processes, equipment operation, process improvements, and problem resolution in a production environment.

What a Typical Day Looks Like:

  • Perform complex engineering tests, checkouts, and development engineering activities for products, systems, and components.

  • Analyze engineering test results, collect data, and implement changes to resolve technical and process-related issues.

  • Review project instructions, blueprints, specifications, and procedures to determine testing requirements and potential solutions.

  • Set up and conduct operational testing of complete units and components to support development, quality control, standardization, and problem resolution.

  • Support BGA rework activities, including board-level processes involving component removal and replacement.

  • Analyze test results against specifications and modify or adjust equipment to meet defined requirements and objectives.

  • Record test procedures, results, data, and recommendations for product or process improvements while maintaining software, documentation, and equipment revisions.

  • Assist engineers in developing hardware and software solutions and train technicians and operators on products, processes, and equipment.

The Experience We're Looking to Add to the Team:

  • Associate degree, military training, equivalent vocational training, or equivalent experience with a minimum of 6 years of related experience.

  • Experience with electronics, electronic assemblies, and board-level troubleshooting in a manufacturing or engineering environment.

  • Experience with BGA rework processes, including component replacement, repair, and related production activities.

  • Knowledge of automation equipment, manufacturing systems, fixtures, pneumatics, and related process technologies.

  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, analyze results, and implement effective solutions using independent judgment.

  • Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedures, and effectively communicate technical information to managers, customers, and team members.

  • Advanced technical skills with the ability to lead or guide others, contribute to process improvements, and adapt to new technologies and changing business needs.

  • Ability to interpret complex technical instructions and work independently with minimal supervision while supporting departmental goals and objectives.
