Pollution Control Aide

Salary Range:$47,903.18 -$47,903.18

 

Works under the supervision of the Industrial Pretreatment Technician in the Public Works Division. Assists the Pollution Control Inspector in conducting inspections of sewer lines and to determine sewer repair needs throughout the City and County including alleys, woods and flood areas. Loads and unloads necessary equipment from truck; removes manhole covers and climbs into manhole to place and retrieve equipment; helps setup camera in sewer line by attaching pulling cable to camera and positioning camera in sewer line; detaches camera from cable, rewinds cable into reel, and disassembles equipment; administers appropriate chemicals per instructions from the Pollution Control Inspector; services, adjusts and makes minor repairs to electronic equipment; assists in performing smoke testing by helping to unload machine from truck and pulling starter to release smoke into sewer lines; informs residents of work being performed in the area; drives wash truck (over 1000 gallons) to work site; and may ride in small boat to perform inspections during flood seasons.
