Meta's Infrastructure Sourcing team is responsible for securing the supply of critical hardware and services that power Meta's global infrastructure portfolio. We are seeking a Commercial Sourcing Manager to lead strategic sourcing and commodity management for optics and network products, including transceivers, optical interconnects and active networking components. In this role, you will develop and execute sourcing strategies that ensure cost-effective, resilient supply of network hardware infrastructure at the scale required to support Meta's hyperscale deployments.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and own end-to-end category strategies for optical commodities, including optical transceivers and related network system components
  • Lead complex commercial negotiations with Tier 1 and Tier 2 connectivity hardware suppliers, securing favorable pricing, lead times, and contractual terms aligned with Meta's infrastructure roadmap
  • Build and manage a diversified supplier base for connectivity components, conducting capability assessments, qualification activities, and ongoing performance reviews
  • Partner with network engineering, data center design, and capacity planning teams to translate technical requirements into sourcing strategies and supplier roadmaps
  • Analyze total cost of ownership across the connectivity supply chain, identifying opportunities for cost reduction through design-to-cost initiatives, volume leverage, and supplier consolidation
  • Monitor global supply and demand dynamics, component lead times, and geopolitical risks affecting the fiber optic and optical networking supply chain, developing mitigation strategies accordingly
  • Drive supplier development programs to improve quality, delivery performance, and technology readiness for next-generation connectivity solutions
  • Establish and track key performance indicators for supplier delivery, quality, and cost, presenting findings and recommendations to cross-functional leadership
  • Lead cross-functional sourcing initiatives in partnership with legal, finance, network engineering, and construction teams to support new data center programs and technology transitions
  • Define and implement long-term commodity strategies that align supplier capacity commitments with Meta's multi-year infrastructure investment plans

Minimum Qualifications

  • 8+ years of experience in strategic sourcing, commodity management, or procurement within data center infrastructure, telecommunications, or networking hardware
  • Experience sourcing connectivity commodities such as fiber optic cables, optical transceivers, structured cabling systems, or related passive and active networking components
  • Experience leading complex commercial negotiations and managing supplier contracts at scale
  • Experience developing category strategies and translating technical infrastructure requirements into sourcing and supply chain plans
  • Experience analyzing supply market dynamics, cost structures, and total cost of ownership to drive sourcing decisions and present recommendations to leadership

Preferred Qualifications

  • Familiarity with optical networking technologies including coherent optics, CWDM/DWDM, and high-density fiber interconnect systems
  • Demonstrated ability to integrate AI tools to optimize/redesign workflows and drive measurable impact (e.g., efficiency gains, quality improvements)
  • Experience adhering to and implementing responsible, ethical AI practices (e.g., risk assessment, bias mitigation, quality and accuracy reviews)
  • Experience supporting hyperscale or cloud data center infrastructure programs with direct exposure to network connectivity bill of materials
  • Demonstrated ongoing AI skill development (e.g., prompt/context engineering, agent orchestration) and staying current with emerging AI technologies
  • Track record of leading cross-functional commodity councils or integrated product teams spanning engineering, supply chain, and finance stakeholders
  • Experience managing global supplier relationships across Asia-Pacific manufacturing regions for connectivity or networking hardware
