Responsibilities
- Define and execute Meta's global wholesale energy procurement strategy, including long-term power purchase agreements, capacity contracts, and wholesale market participation across multiple grid regions
- Lead complex negotiations with independent power producers, utilities, grid operators, and energy developers for large-scale electricity supply agreements supporting data center load growth
- Partner with capacity planning, data center development, and infrastructure teams to align energy supply timelines with facility commissioning schedules and long-term demand forecasts
- Develop and maintain relationships with regional transmission organizations, independent system operators, and regulatory bodies to monitor market rule changes and advocate for Meta's energy interests
- Oversee wholesale energy portfolio management, including contract performance tracking, counterparty risk assessment, and supply adequacy analysis across geographies
- Collaborate with finance and accounting teams to structure energy contracts that optimize capital efficiency, hedge price exposure, and meet financial reporting requirements
- Lead cross-functional teams evaluating new energy markets, grid interconnection opportunities, and emerging wholesale procurement mechanisms such as virtual power purchase agreements and energy storage contracts
- Provide executive-level reporting on energy supply risk, market conditions, procurement pipeline status, and progress toward clean energy and carbon-free energy targets
- Build and develop a team of energy procurement professionals, establishing best practices, analytical frameworks, and scalable processes for wholesale energy sourcing at hyperscale
Minimum Qualifications
- Experience working with regional transmission organizations, independent system operators, or wholesale electricity market structures across multiple grid regions
- Experience managing energy portfolio risk, including counterparty exposure, price hedging, and supply adequacy planning at a portfolio scale
- 12+ years of experience in wholesale energy procurement, power markets, or energy supply strategy within large-scale industrial, utility, or technology infrastructure contexts
- Experience leading cross-functional initiatives and presenting energy supply strategy, market analysis, and contract recommendations to executive leadership
- Experience negotiating and executing large-scale power purchase agreements, wholesale supply contracts, or capacity agreements in deregulated electricity markets
- Bachelor's degree in a directly related field, or equivalent practical experience

- Demonstrated ability to integrate AI tools to optimize/redesign workflows and drive measurable impact (e.g., efficiency gains, quality improvements)
- Experience adhering to and implementing responsible, ethical AI practices (e.g., risk assessment, bias mitigation, quality and accuracy reviews)
- Demonstrated ongoing AI skill development (e.g., prompt/context engineering, agent orchestration) and staying current with emerging AI technologies
- Experience procuring wholesale energy in support of hyperscale data center or large industrial load growth, including coordination with capacity planning and infrastructure development teams
- Experience adhering to and implementing responsible, ethical AI practices (e.g., risk assessment, bias mitigation, quality and accuracy reviews)
- Demonstrated ongoing AI skill development (e.g., prompt/context engineering, agent orchestration) and staying current with emerging AI technologies
- Experience engaging with utility commissions, grid operators, or legislative bodies on energy market policy matters relevant to large electricity consumers
- Familiarity with carbon-free energy procurement mechanisms, including 24/7 clean energy matching, virtual power purchase agreements, and energy attribute certificate markets
- Demonstrated ability to integrate AI tools to optimize/redesign workflows and drive measurable impact (e.g., efficiency gains, quality improvements)
