The Fab Associate / Material Handler is responsible for supporting fabrication operations through a combination of sheet metal fabrication, material handling, product preparation, and shipping activities. This position will install rivet nuts (rivnuts) into galvanized sheet metal panels and assist with the movement of raw materials, fabricated components, and completed products throughout the production process.

JOB DESCRIPTION
  • Install rivet nuts into galvanized sheet metal panels using appropriate hand and power tools.
  • Load, unload, move, and stage raw materials and fabricated components throughout the production process.
  • Assist with unloading incoming sheet metal trucks containing bundles of raw material.
  • Unload APX trucks carrying fabricated parts and prepare those parts for rivet nut installation.
  • Transport completed fabricated parts back to the Oregon Street facility for painting as needed.
  • Safely operate material-handling equipment, including forklifts and other equipment as trained and authorized.
  • Properly stage materials and fabricated parts to support efficient production flow.
  • Crate, package, and prepare finished parts for shipment to customers.
  • Inspect materials and finished components for obvious damage or quality concerns and communicate issues to the appropriate supervisor.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
  • Follow all company safety policies, procedures, and PPE requirements.
  • Follow work instructions, production schedules, and quality standards.
  • Assist other fabrication and material-handling functions as needed to support overall operations.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
  • Previous experience in manufacturing, fabrication, material handling, warehousing, or a similar environment preferred.
  • Ability to safely use basic hand tools and power tools.
  • Ability to read and follow basic work instructions.
  • Forklift experience preferred; training may be provided.
  • Ability to safely lift, move, and handle materials and finished products.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
  • Reliable attendance and ability to work effectively as part of a team.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
  • Willingness to perform a variety of duties across fabrication, material handling, and shipping functions.
  • Experience in handling sheet metal or fabricated metal components preferred.
  • Experience installing rivet nuts/rivnuts preferred.
  • Ability to successfully obtain and maintain a DOT medical certification and meet applicable requirements to operate a company stake-body truck preferred.
