Position Summary
The Traffic Control Scheduler coordinates personnel, equipment, vehicles, and project resources to ensure safe, efficient, and successful project execution. The Scheduler serves as the primary operational link between field personnel, customers, and management while supporting Traffic Control Supervisors through scheduling, resource coordination, and operational oversight.

 

Scheduling & Workforce Coordination

  • Build and maintain daily schedules for field personnel.
  • Assign staffing based on project requirements, certifications, and operational needs.
  • Manage schedule changes, call-ins, emergency staffing, and personnel redeployment.
  • Ensure projects are properly staffed, equipped, and communicated before deployment.

Project Administration

  • Maintain accurate project, scheduling, staffing, and operational records.
  • Verify project information before deployment.
  • Process required documentation and paperwork.
  • Maintain project documentation for operational and billing support.

Field Operations Support

  • Communicate with field personnel, customers, and contractors.
  • Provide operational support and resolve day-to-day issues.
  • Verify required field documentation is completed.
  • Monitor staffing and project performance.

Employee Leadership & Accountability

  • Coach employees on company procedures and expectations.
  • Address minor performance concerns and communicate issues to management.
  • Reassign or remove employees from assignments as operational needs require.
  • Escalate recurring or serious performance concerns.
  • Support employee training and development.

 

 Qualifications

Required

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
  • Flagger Certification (or ability to obtain immediately).
  • OSHA 10, CPR, and other required certifications (or ability to obtain).
  • Proficient with computers, scheduling software, Microsoft Office, and mobile technology.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including early mornings, evenings, weekends, and emergency call-outs as business requires.

Preferred

  • Previous traffic control, construction, utility, or field operations experience.
  • Experience coordinating schedules, crews, or logistics.
  • Leadership or supervisory experience.
  • Familiarity with MUTCD standards and traffic control operations.
