What You'll Do

As a Life Skills Professional, you will:

  • Support individuals in developing and maintaining independent living skills.
  • Assist participants with daily activities including cooking, shopping, budgeting, banking, transportation, housekeeping, and meal preparation.
  • Help individuals pursue educational, vocational, and employment opportunities.
  • Assess participant strengths and learning styles to support individualized skill development.
  • Model positive social skills and healthy interpersonal relationships.
  • Support participation in community, recreational, social, and cultural activities.
  • Complete required documentation, including daily notes, medication records, mileage logs, and incident reports.
  • Monitor or administer medications as prescribed following required training.
  • Operate agency vehicles in accordance with agency policies and procedures.
  • Attend supervision, staff meetings, trainings, and clinical meetings as required.
  • Help maintain a safe, clean, and supportive environment.

Qualifications

Required

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Minimum of two years of experience in the social services field.
  • Valid Driver's License.
  • Ability to complete required trainings, including medication administration/monitoring and CPR/First Aid.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Preferred

  • Experience working with individuals with behavioral health, intellectual/developmental disabilities, or other human services populations.
  • Knowledge of person-centered and recovery-oriented practices.
  • Experience supporting individuals in community-based settings.

Schedule

  • Full-Time
  • Flexible schedule based on program needs
  • Evening, weekend, and holiday hours may be required
  • Community-based and residential settings

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to stand, sit, walk, climb stairs, bend, kneel, crouch, and reach frequently.
  • Ability to push, pull, and perform repetitive movements.
  • Ability to safely assist participants and transport individuals as needed.
  • Ability to perform essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodation.
