assist Dr Kantrowitz close charts and scribe during patient visitsPosition Responsibilities
- Able to identify patient ongoing problems.
- For existing patients, able to identify reason for visit/chief complaint, changes to medication and orders placed.
- For new patients, able to identify reason for visit and any ongoing problems.
- Able to start progress note including initial HPI, laboratory studies and other studies, and ICD/problem list for physician.
- Include location, quality, severity, duration, timing, context, precipitating/modifying factors, and associated signs and symptoms in HPI section.
- Include any details physician wants to take record in progress note.
- Able to record any findings physician has for review of systems and physical exam.
- Able to prepare and print out any related patient instructions/after visit summary/lab orders, if necessary.
- Able to "Pend" progress note for physician to personally review and sign.
- Able to help patient with any questions.
- Able to answer the phone with proper etiquette.
- Able to make addendums to the progress note at the request of the physician, if necessary.
