JOB SUMMARY The Night Auditor is responsible for providing exceptional overnight guest service while ensuring the accurate completion of the hotel’s nightly financial audit and operational procedures. This position serves as a key overnight representative of The Palms Hotel & Spa, maintaining a welcoming, professional and secure environment for guests while supporting the continuity of Front Office operations during overnight hours. The Night Auditor combines luxury guest service, front office expertise and financial accountability. The position is responsible for guest registration and assistance, room assignments, reservations, telephone communications, guest requests and service recovery, while accurately reviewing and reconciling daily hotel transactions through the Property Management System (PMS). The Night Auditor is expected to demonstrate strong attention to detail, sound judgment, discretion and professionalism, particularly when working independently during overnight hours. The position plays an important role in ensuring that the hotel’s financial records, room inventory, guest accounts and operational information are accurate and properly prepared for the following business day.. MAIN DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: Welcome, register, check in and assist guests, providing warm, personalized service consistent with luxury hotel standards. Respond promptly and professionally to guest requests, inquiries and concerns, including reservations, room assignments, changes and other Front Desk services. Complete the nightly audit accurately through the hotel’s Property Management System (PMS), including revenue posting, taxes, settlements and account reconciliation. Verify and balance guest accounts, cash, credit card transactions and other financial activity; identify and correct discrepancies as needed. Maintain accurate room status, inventory and reservation information, including arrivals, departures, no-shows, cancellations and special requests. Complete all Night Audit checklists, reports and required documentation accurately and on time. Communicate important guest, financial, operational and security information to management and the incoming Front Desk team. Maintain confidentiality and safeguard guest information, hotel assets, financial records and guest property. Maintain awareness of hotel activity and security conditions during overnight hours and promptly report safety hazards, maintenance issues or unusual activity. Follow established procedures for emergencies, fire/life safety, security incidents, cash handling and other hotel operations. Maintain a professional appearance, demeanor and high standard of etiquette while representing The Palms Hotel & Spa with warmth, courtesy and discretion. Support teamwork, accountability and service excellence while identifying opportunities to enhance the guest experience. OTHER DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: Maintain highest level of customer service and guest satisfaction, according to the standards set forth by The Palms Hotel and Spa Attend all meetings/trainings related to Front Desk Ensure compliance with health and sanitation policies in all areas Adhere to all fire, safety, and security procedures according to hotel policy Adhere to all sustainability guidelines as per the Inspired by Nature Program KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES REQUIRED: Be courteous Show genuine care for all co-workers and guest(s) Previous hotel Front Desk or Night Audit experience required; luxury hotel experience preferred. Knowledge of hotel PMS and basic accounting or reconciliation procedures. Strong attention to detail and accuracy. Excellent customer service and communication skills. Ability to work independently and make sound decisions during overnight hours. Strong organizational and time-management skills. Ability to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment. Professional appearance and demeanor. Proficient in English; additional language skills are an asset. Must be available to work overnight shifts, weekends and holidays. EXPERIENCE & EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS: Two (2) years as Front Desk agent or supervisory experience in a Hotel or Resort or an equivalent combination of education and experience. High School Diploma or College preferred. WORK CONDITIONS & PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Most of the time spent standing, walking or there are some requirements to lift moderate weight (10-20 pounds). There may be regular exposure to mild discomfort from factors such as dust, odors, extreme temperature, inclement weather, noise, or lights. The hotel operates seven days a week, 24 hours a day, seven days a week. The team member must be willing and available to work overnight shifts, weekends, holidays and other schedules as required. We may find it necessary to re-schedule shifts according to our business volume. You must be willing and available to fulfill changing operational demands.
