Job Description 

Select’s EHS Trainer will lead training assessment, curriculum design, training record tracking, and learning management system for corporate training activities. The EHS Trainer will have an extensive technical background in OSHA 1910 and OSHA 1926 regulations as well as oil filed experience.

 

The essential job functions include, but are not limited to

  • The Trainer will work with teams to develop technical training content for EHS orientation sessions for new employees.
  • The Trainer will assist EHS Coordinators in training delivery.
  • The Trainer shall develop career development training for employees to improve their job skills and prepare employee for jobs requiring greater skill.
  • Training content will also include OSHA refresher training, interpersonal skills in order to deal effectively with employees, and EHS leadership training.
  • The Trainer shall develop individualized training plans and maintain existing training records in an existing electronic EHS software system.
  • The Trainer will direct development of training content on both general safety topics and on tool box topics for the safety teams.
  • The Training Department will work with all service lines to develop specific job training on the standardized practices of the services lines.
  • The Trainer will also be responsible for a field training location including equipment and classroom.
  • The Trainer will be required to manage all training centers for instructors and assist in instructor’s re-certifications.
  • The Trainer will audit training records for compliance.

Requirements

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required:

  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience in oil and gas upstream operations (preferred)
  • Safeland Instructor (preferred)
  • CPR/FA Instructor
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and email etiquette is required.
  • Good organizational skills a must.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks, meet deadlines and interact effectively in a team environment.
  • Ability to learn quickly and work with minimal supervision.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills required.
  • Bilingual English-Spanish required.

Physical Demands and Exposures

The Company will supply adequate training and equipment to perform the functions of the job.

  • Work is regularly performed in outside weather conditions, including rain and extreme cold and heat, near moving mechanical parts; exposure to high wind, ice, snow, wet and/or humid conditions, vibration, and dust is expected.
  • Exposure to noise levels requiring the use of hearing protection.
  • Prolonged sitting, standing, walking.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
  • Ability to individually lift: Maximum 50 lbs.
