This role analyzes, designs, and optimizes processes, workflows, facility layouts, systems, and resource utilization to support safe, efficient, and consistent operations The Industrial Engineer partners closely with Operations, Quality, Logistics, IT, and other cross-functional teams to identify improvement opportunities, develop practical solutions, and lead implementation. Using Lean principles, data analysis, process engineering, and continuous improvement methodologies, this position helps establish standardized, measurable, and sustainable operating practices across the organization Success in this role requires a balance of analytical thinking and hands-on operational engagement, with the ability to translate data and observations into practical improvements on the production and warehouse floor  What You Will Do (Key Responsibilities): Change Management: Lead and manage change initiatives within the operational processes. Design and implement strategies to effectively transition teams and processes through change, ensuring minimal disruption and high engagement from all stakeholders Process Design & Standardization: Develop and standardize operating procedures to ensure consistency, quality, and compliance across all facilities. Create detailed process documentation and ensure team alignment with best practices Warehouse Design: Lead efforts to design, optimize, and enhance warehouse layouts and workflows. Ensure that warehouse space is used efficiently, minimizing handling time, improving material flow, and optimizing storage capacities to accommodate diverse asset recovery activities Operational Improvements: Identify opportunities for operational improvements across all stages of the asset recovery lifecycle, from device collection and data destruction to refurbishment and resale. Utilize Lean methodologies, process mapping, and performance metrics to drive continuous improvement. Operations Planning and Scheduling: Develop and implement efficient operations planning and scheduling practices to ensure that resources are allocated effectively, downtime is minimized, and production goals are met. Monitor production timelines and adjust plans as needed to meet customer requirements. OEE Analysis (Overall Equipment Effectiveness): Analyze and optimize equipment performance through OEE analysis. Identify and address equipment downtime, performance bottlenecks, and quality issues to maximize overall equipment efficiency and productivity. WMS System Utilization: Oversee and optimize the use of Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) to ensure effective tracking, storage, and movement of assets. Work with IT and operations teams to implement WMS improvements, ensure data accuracy, and streamline warehouse operations. Data Analysis and Reporting: Gather and analyze operational data to measure performance against KPIs, identify inefficiencies, and provide actionable insights for decision-making. Prepare reports and presentations for senior leadership regarding performance, process improvements, and operational challenges. Collaboration & Communication: Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including operations, logistics, quality, and IT, to ensure that new processes and designs are aligned with company objectives and are executed successfully across all facilities. Training & Development: Support the training and development of staff on process improvements, operational efficiency, and best practices. Ensure employees are equipped with the knowledge to optimize their workflows and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives. Process Optimization: Analyze and design workflows, procedures, and systems within our asset recovery process to maximize efficiency and productivity while minimizing waste and costs. Lean & Continuous Improvement: Apply Lean principles to streamline processes, reduce inefficiencies, and eliminate waste. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement continuous improvement initiatives. Automation & Technology Integration: Identify opportunities for automation and technology integration to enhance operational efficiency and drive innovation within asset recovery and refurbishment operations. Risk Management: Assess potential risks related to process changes, equipment, and capacity, and develop strategies to mitigate these risks while maintaining business continuity. Performance Metrics: Develop and track key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the effectiveness of process changes and improvements. Provide regular updates to management on performance progress and areas for further improvement. QualificationsEducation & Experience: Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering or Manufacturing Engineering Relevant experience in industrial engineering, manufacturing, warehouse operations, distribution, production, or a similar operational environment. Experience applying Lean, continuous improvement, process engineering, or operational excellence methodologies. Experience managing or supporting cross-functional operational improvement projects. Experience within electronics recycling, asset recovery, refurbishment, manufacturing, distribution, or a related environment is preferred. High level of professionalism, integrity, and discretion in secure environments. Spanish/English bilingual preferred Skills & Competencies: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to identify root causes and develop practical, data-driven solutions. Knowledge of Lean principles, process improvement methodologies, standard work, process mapping, and continuous improvement techniques. Ability to perform statistical analysis, capacity analysis, root cause analysis, and operational performance analysis. Strong understanding of warehouse, production, material-flow, and facility-layout concepts. Ability to analyze and improve labor utilization, throughput, workflow, and operational capacity. Knowledge of OEE and other operational performance measurement methodologies. Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and other data-analysis and reporting tools. Familiarity with ERP, WMS, process-modeling, operational systems, and basic CAD abilities Strong project-management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and initiatives. Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to communicate technical concepts to both operational and senior leadership audiences. Ability to collaborate effectively across departments and organizational levels. Ability to influence change and gain stakeholder support without relying solely on direct authority. Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy, quality, and continuous improvement. Ability to work independently while maintaining strong cross-functional collaboration. Work Environment This position is based at the Greencastle facility and operates across both office and production/warehouse environments within a high-security site. The role requires regular time on the production and warehouse floor to observe workflows, evaluate processes and layouts, conduct studies, identify improvement opportunities, and support the implementation of operational changes. Appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) and adherence to all safety and security protocols are required when working in operational areas. The ability to lift, carry, or move materials or equipment weighing up to 35 pounds unassisted may be required. Highly Secure Environment Operates under strict security protocols including controlled access areas, video monitoring, visitor management, chain-of-custody controls, and client-driven security requirements. Employees must comply with all site security policies including badging, access restrictions, electronic device controls, confidentiality requirements, and audit readiness standards.
