Associate Chemist

The primary purpose of this position is to support product development and process optimization for Hydrite and its customers. This position involves conducting experiments, analyzing data, and collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to drive innovation in chemical manufacturing and product application. The ideal candidate should have a strong foundation in chemistry, hands-on laboratory experience, and a passion for scientific discovery.

Primary responsibilities include:

  • Conduct routine and complex chemical experiments following established protocols and
  • Analyze experimental data, interpret results, and maintain detailed laboratory
  • Prepare and test chemical formulations, raw materials, and finished
  • Operate and maintain laboratory equipment, ensuring calibration and quality control standards are met.
  • Work closely with senior chemists, engineers, and other team members to achieve project goals.
  • Assist in the development of new methods and protocols for chemical
  • Participate in team meetings and contribute to project planning and problem-solving
  • Communicate effectively with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment on project
  • Prepare technical reports and presentations summarizing research
  • Adhere to all safety guidelines and regulations in the
  • Ensure proper handling, storage, and disposal of chemicals and hazardous
  • Participate in safety audits and contribute to the continuous improvement of laboratory safety practices.
  • Stay up to date with industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in chemical research.
  • Propose new ideas and approaches to improve processes, products, and
  • Assist in scaling up laboratory processes to pilot or production scale, as

REPORTING STRUCTURE

  • This position reports to the Sr. Lead Product Development Chemist

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor’s degree in chemistry or a related scientific
  • 1+ years of laboratory experience in chemical or related
  • Experience with analytical techniques such as HPLC, GC, FTIR, and UV-
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving
  • Competence in using laboratory equipment and software for data
  • Excellent written and verbal communication
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a
  • Detail-oriented with a strong commitment to accuracy and
  • Enthusiastic about learning and applying new techniques and
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and projects in a collaborative

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Required to lift up to 50 lbs. periodically in the pilot lab.
  • Required to climb stairs or ladders several times a day.
  • Able to do repetitive motions like bend, twist, kneel, reach, balance and lift occasionally
  • Must be able to stand for 4 hours at a time.
  • Due to safety concerns, the wearing of contact lenses is prohibited.
