Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Examine loom cards placed on weaving looms to determine product information, type of yarn being used and where to draw-in threads through drums, heddles and reeds.
  2. Observe threads of polyester and nylon fabrics being woven on narrow fabric looms to detect weaving defects.
  3. Examine looms to determine cause of loom stoppage, such as warp, filling, harness breaks, or mechanical defects.
  4. Tie pieces of yarn to broken end and threads yarn through drop wires, heddle eyes, and reed dents to repair warp breaks, using reed hook.
  5. Replace empty yarn spools with full ones when necessary.
  6. Verify that woven product is doffed on metal cages and replaces full cages using pallet jack.
  7. Notify Loom Technician of any mechanical defects of equipment.
  8. May assist in small loom repairs, like needle replacement, when needed.
  9. Take out any non-conforming material from production, place in designated scrap area and complete corresponding documentation.
  • Complete all documentation related to production performed during assigned shift.
  • Clean looms and tensioning units on a periodic basis.
  • Assist in inventory count processes.


Shifts Available: 1st & 3rd 


Qualifications:

  1. High school Diploma or Equivalent and
    Six months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  2. Ability to add and subtract two digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10’s and 100’s.
  3. Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.
  4. Ability to know how to read product loom cards to correctly place the threads in looms.
  5. Ability to take measurements of products when required.
  6. Ability to safely use and inspect scissors, ladders, safety harnesses and lifting platforms.
  7. Will be required to stoop, kneel, couch, crawl, visually inspect and be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
  8. Must be able to adapt to loud noise and temperature changes.
