Job Overview:

As a Server Assistant at Ovide, at Hotel Effie Sandestin you will support the service team in delivering an exceptional dining experience. You will be responsible for maintaining cleanliness and organization in the dining area, assisting servers with delivering food, clearing tables, refilling drinks, and ensuring guest satisfaction. Your role is key in ensuring a seamless and enjoyable experience for all guests in the upscale dining environment at Ovide.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist servers in providing high-quality service to guests.
• Clear, clean, and reset tables promptly and efficiently.
• Deliver food orders to tables in coordination with servers and kitchen staff.
• Refill water, beverages, and ensure guests have necessary condiments and utensils.
• Assist in maintaining cleanliness and order in the dining room, ensuring all service areas are tidy and well-stocked.
• Support the restaurant staff with general cleaning tasks and side work during downtime.
• Uphold the restaurant’s standards of quality, professionalism, and service.
• Communicate effectively with servers, hosts, and kitchen staff to ensure smooth service flow.
• Respond to guest requests in a timely and courteous manner.
• Assist with the setup and breakdown of dining room during opening and closing shifts.

Qualifications:

• Previous experience in a restaurant or hospitality setting is a plus.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
• Ability to maintain composure under pressure and ensure guest satisfaction.
• Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.

Physical Requirements:

• Must be able to stand and walk for extended periods of time.
• Must be able to lift and carry up to 40 pounds frequently.
• Ability to bend, stoop, and reach to perform duties such as clearing tables, stocking supplies, and assisting with service.
• Requires working in a dynamic environment with constant movement in the dining room.

Work Environment:

• The role involves working indoors in a fine dining restaurant.
• Occasional exposure to varying temperatures from hot kitchens or outdoor dining spaces.
