The Trauma Injury Prevention and Community Outreach Coordinator is responsible for developing, implementing, and managing injury prevention programs and community outreach initiatives within the health system. This role focuses on reducing the incidence of trauma and injury through education, advocacy, and direct community engagement.

Responsibilities

  • Program Development: Design, develop, and implement trauma injury prevention programs tailored to the needs of the community.
  • Community Outreach: Engage with community members, organizations, and stakeholders to promote awareness and participation in injury prevention activities.
  • Education and Training: Organize and conduct educational workshops, seminars, and training sessions on injury prevention for community groups, schools, and healthcare providers.
  • Data Collection and Analysis: Collect and analyze data related to trauma and injury patterns to inform program development and measure effectiveness.
  • Advocacy: Advocate for policies and practices that support injury prevention and community health.
  • Public Relations: Serve as a liaison between the health system and the community, representing the organization at events and meetings.
  • Collaboration: Work collaboratively with internal departments, external organizations, and local authorities to coordinate efforts and resources.
  • Reporting: Prepare regular reports on program activities, outcomes, and impact for health system leadership.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Experience: Minimum 5 years Community Outreach or Education

Education: Bachelor’s DegreeĀ 

Training: Certification/Instructor status within 6 months of hire for related injury prevention initiatives. i.e. Matter of Balance Training, Stop the Bleed, Sudden Impact, and CPST.

Special Skills: Participation in trauma organization within the first year of hire. Proficient in the use of software programs such as MS word and MS Excel.

Licensure: BLS Certification, American Heart Association SponsoredĀ
