Job Description : 

GENERAL OVERVIEW: 

Oversees the daily functions of the Respiratory Care Department in the provision of respiratory care.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Coordinates the daily operations within the department e.g., quality assurance, performance improvement, productivity monitoring, staffing assignments. (40%)
  • Performs or makes recommendations relative to hiring, evaluation, coaching, promoting, disciplining and discharging employees by following established HR policies, scheduling. (30%)
  • Prepare, review and revise department standards of operation and care per regulatory requirements. (5%)
  • Administers therapeutic respiratory care procedures according to hospital and department policies. (5%)
  • Ensures compliance with and prepares the department for regulatory agencies. (20%)
  • Performs other duties as assigned or required.

QUALIFICATIONS:
Minimum

  • Bachelor’s degree or 3 years of relevant experience and/or education as determined by the company in lieu of bachelor's degree.
  • Pennsylvania state licensure as a Respiratory Therapist.
  • Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT).
  • Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT).
  • 3 years in a clinical setting.
  • Preferred
  • Master’s Degree.
  • Previous supervisory experience.

Additional Employment Requirements:

  • CPR – American Heart Association.
  • Act 34 Criminal Background Clearance Certificate.
  • Act 33 Child Abuse Clearance Certificate.
  • Act 73 FBI Fingerprinting Criminal Background Clearance Certificate.
