In this role, you will be on the front lines of community assistance, helping individuals and families access food, emergency financial assistance, clothing, transportation, and other essential resources. What You'll Do As a Social Service Worker, you will: Meet with individuals and families seeking assistance and assess eligibility for available programs Provide assistance through food pantry services, vouchers, clothing, furniture, and emergency financial aid Provide oversight of the Day Shelter within the Facility Help clients complete applications and gather required documentation Coordinate rent and utility assistance with landlords and utility providers Connect clients with community resources and partner agencies Maintain accurate and confidential client records Compile service statistics and reports Answer questions from clients and community members regarding available programs and services Assist with seasonal and special community programs as needed Support food pantry operations, including inventory and distribution management Physical Requirements and Working Conditions: Dependability and a strong commitment to being present and engaged for clients and coworkers. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Basic math and problem-solving abilities. Proficiency with computers and data entry. Excellent organization and attention to detail. Comfort using everyday office technology and software. Ability to perform light physical tasks, including occasional lifting of items up to 25 pounds. Ability to work primarily in an office environment while moving about the workspace as needed.
