If you are seeking a family-oriented company that values career growth and provides robust paid training, explore the comprehensive benefits listed below to see how Petoskey Plastics can support your professional journey.  The Maintenance Lead Technician (Nights) is responsible for organizing, planning, implementing, and measuring daily maintenance activities.  They will demonstrate leadership through the upkeep of manufacturing equipment, performing repairs as prioritized by management, working on PLCs, and documenting all activities in the work order module of the computerized maintenance management system.   We’re headquartered in Petoskey where our Lake Michigan shores are clasped by rhythmic waves of seafoam and cobalt. We’re honored to have roots in Texas, Tennessee, and Indiana as our production has expanded over the years. Our custom-engineered solutions tackle a variety of industries, including automotive, industrial, institutional, retail, construction, home improvement, medical, and more. Always moving forward! > IN THE NEWS  A few of our over 20 competitive benefits:  Medical, Prescription, Dental, and Vision benefits - valued at $4/hr over your base pay!  PTO - start accruing just two weeks after your start date  Earn a $500 bonus for maintaining a full-time status for the first 90 days of employment with good attendance.  Petoskey Plastics pays 3% of your annual earnings into your 401k regardless of your contribution!  Profit Sharing  Birthday Pay  Call-in Bonus   Safety Shoe and Safety Glasses Reimbursement  Tuition Reimbursement  Wellness Reimbursement (up to $400 annually)   Life Insurance  Short- and Long-Term Disability  QualificationsResponsibilities Demonstrate effective communication skills, acting as the liaison between the Maintenance Manager and the Maintenance Team Organize and lead team members on assignments and projects Effectively manage time and deadlines Promote continuous improvement by facilitating training, improving PMs, etc. Demonstrate exceptional attention to safety, and lead by example when setting standards for the Maintenance Team Set the standard for professionalism, cleanliness, attitude, work ethic and respect for fellow associates Possess an advanced understanding of electrical systems, PID controls, IO readings, PLCs, DC motors and drives, AC motors and drives, hydraulics and pneumatics Restore machinery to a condition better than its original state Help ensure that drawings, programs and manuals are accurate, available and up to date Demonstrate superior troubleshooting skills and devise permanent solutions to mechanical issues Have the ability to use mathematical formulas to solve mechanical problems Handle equipment and tools properly and with care Possess the ability to read, create and update mechanical drawings Excellent follow up skills and attention to detail Be willing to work overtime, cover shifts and respond to call-ins, as needed Perform additional duties as assigned by management Education Two-year technical degree Experience Minimum 3 years industrial equipment maintenance experience in manufacturing Knowledge, Skills, Abilities Epicor or other maintenance specific software databases Strong interpersonal and communication skills Organization and documentation skills PLC programming and troubleshooting experience Troubleshoot AC and DC drives down to the board level Ability to work in and lead teams Proficient knowledge in mechanical, electrical, blueprint reading, hydraulic, pneumatics, arc welding, gas welding and cutting Commitment to safety and quality Self-directed with good time management skills Forklift certification Essential Functions Regular and Reliable Attendance Reading Writing Visual Acuity Ascend/Descend Stairways and Platforms with Heights of up to 50+ feet Standing for 12 hours Walking Bending Twisting Reaching Pushing Pulling Lifting/Carrying up to 30 pounds (higher weights require a two-person lift) Concentration
