Summary

As a Saw Operator at Bradbury, you'll play a key role in preparing the raw materials that become industry-leading roll forming and coil processing equipment used around the world. This position combines blueprint reading, precision cutting, material handling, and equipment operation in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. Hours:

 7:00 am – 3:30 pm Monday – Friday 

 

WHAT YOU'LL DO

  • Review blueprints, job packets, and work orders to determine required material types, dimensions, and cut specifications.
  • Measure, mark, and verify material dimensions to ensure accurate cuts and efficient material usage.
  • Set up and operate industrial sawing equipment to cut steel and other materials to precise specifications.
  • Inspect completed cuts and verify conformance to blueprint and quality requirements.
  • Perform routine preventive maintenance and basic troubleshooting to keep equipment operating efficiently.
  • Safely load, unload, transport, and stage materials using forklifts, overhead cranes/hoists, and other material handling equipment.
  • Move raw materials, work-in-process, and finished components between work centers and storage locations.
  • Properly stack, organize, and store materials to support production flow and inventory accuracy.
  • Verify loads are secure before transporting materials throughout the facility.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
  • Cross-train in other manufacturing areas as needed to support production goals.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

 

WHAT YOU BRING

  • Ability to read and follow blueprints, work orders, and written instructions.
  • Basic math skills, including fractions, decimals, and measurement conversions.
  • Ability to safely operate manufacturing equipment and material handling equipment.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
  • Ability to work independently while meeting production expectations.
  • Commitment to workplace safety and following established procedures.
  • Good hand-eye coordination and spatial awareness.

Preferred:

  • Experience operating industrial saws, fabrication equipment, or other manufacturing machinery.
  • Understanding of precision measurement and dimensional accuracy.
  • Forklift and/or overhead crane experience.
  • Experience reading manufacturing prints and shop drawings.
  • Previous experience in a manufacturing, machine shop, fabrication, or warehouse environment.
  • Knowledge of steel shapes, materials, and material identification.


ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Ability to lift, move, and position materials in a manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, and perform physical work throughout the shift.
  • Ability to accurately assess weights, distances, heights, and clearances during material movement.
  • Dependable attendance and commitment to teamwork.
  • Mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn new equipment and processes.
  • Flexibility to move between work areas and support production needs as required.
