Milacron is looking for a 2nd Shift CNC Operator to join our team in Mt. Orab, Ohio. In this position, you will be responsible for grinding and finishing metal parts to specification, inspecting products for quality compliance, and supporting safe, efficient manufacturing operations.
Work You’ll Do:
  • Grind metal objects, including castings, billets, and machine parts, to smooth or rough-finish surfaces according to specifications.
  • Remove excess metal, scratches, and burrs using rotating grinding equipment.
  • Examine and measure workpieces to verify conformance with engineering specifications and company standards.
  • Select and mount abrasive wheels of varying grit sizes to achieve required finishes.
  • Verify product accuracy using job travelers and related production documentation.
  • Inspect a wide variety of commercial and manufactured parts and accurately record inspection results.
  • Interpret complex drawings, process sheets, sectional views, and company standards.
  • Collaborate with quality and production management to address manufacturing issues and defects.
  • Monitor machine performance, perform preventative maintenance, and maintain required fluid levels on equipment.
  • Utilize precision measuring tools, overhead cranes, power tools, and other equipment while maintaining safety, quality, delivery, cost, 5S, housekeeping, teamwork, and attendance standards.
  • Recommend product and process improvements and perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
  • Technical Program Certificate, or 1+ years of related experience or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Prior experience operating grinding equipment, machines, and products required.
  • Ability to inspect parts and use inspection methodologies to record results accurately.
  • Ability to read and interpret complex drawings, process sheets, and engineering specifications.
  • Experience using precision measuring instruments and tools.
  • Ability to operate overhead cranes and safely handle materials.
  • Basic mathematical skills, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.
  • Ability to understand and follow verbal and written instructions.
  • Ability to interact professionally with customers and employees.
  • Demonstrated flexibility in high-pressure situations, changing priorities, and new assignments.
  • Ability to utilize power tools and various manufacturing equipment as needed.
  • Commitment to continuous improvement, teamwork, quality, and workplace safety.
